Gateway fireworks?

We are sailing on the gateway on Jan 17. Where is the best place to watch the fireworks? We have a port side balcony just ahead of mid ship, deck 8.what time is the event? Thanks!

Sorry but they are no longer doing the fireworks on any ships.

Do you know why not and since when? We had them on our Breakaway cruise in June.

Sometime over the summer they stop have fireworks.

 

They cited safety issues.

 

The last time I saw them in June on the Getaway there was NO safety zone at all if something went wrong.

Don't be too disappointed. Yeah it's fun and novelty factor is high, but would not that big of a deal.

While they hyped it a lot, the cost and safety of the show kept is very small. The last time we saw it was on the GA in April 2015.

Two sides of the same coin. The added expense of having pyrotechnics on a cruise ship from a safety and insurance standpoint made it not feasible. In actuality the show was not all that much at all. It was nice to see (one time) but nothing I'd go out of my way to see again and hardly anything that would detract from my cruise experience now that it is gone.
