Wailea75 Posted January 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2016 A couple of months ago I booked an Oceanview guarantee for our very first Royal Caribbean cruise. We just got our cabin assigned and it is 3192, an adjoining room next to the Conference room and ice rink  Deck 4 above looks like a VERY loud deck given the venues. I guess that's the gamble with a guarantee room. There are no other rooms available right now. There were a few earlier, but all were on deck 3. Has anyone stayed on deck 3? How was it? I'm considering upgrading to an Oceanview balcony if the reports are bad. Thank you!
Wailea75 Posted January 17, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted January 17, 2016 I was able to move to 3210, but it is still a connecting room, and right next to the skating rink still. Any good/bad reviews for that deck?
PoohUnderstands Posted January 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2016 Are you late night people? Or do you go to bed around 11pm or so? The casino and Studio B are right above you!!!!! That would bother me more than the Ice Rink as it would only be really loud during a show at night. I don't believe the shows are that late at night either. If able (and not too expensive), I would try to get higher and if at all possible put staterooms above and below you. But in any case, it is a wonderful ship to experience and you will have a good time even if the location isn't the best. Have a great trip. shakeNbake Posted January 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2016 Curious, I took a walk one nite thru deck 3. My observation right off, the hallways were not at all like the upper cabin decks. It was almost like you were on another ship. More like a crew deck. Also you could hear music playing from the promenade above, mostly on the on port side. To be honest I've heard more complaints from noise from the cabins on deck 14 than I have from cabins on deck 3. If you booked under North American rules you can change your cabin for any other cabin in the exact same category...in your case cat H. If a cabin was available 4 to 8 cabins down that would put you under the hallway to the casino which would be quiet.

Didn't see this list. This would be the location that I would choose. Under the hallway to the casino.
pandaball Posted January 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2016 I've been on Deck 3 a number of time and never had any noise issues. Just wish there weren't so many stairs to the upper decks!
Stevedan Posted January 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2016 We just got back from Anthem 12/27/15 and were on Deck 3 with the casino. I was afraid it would be noisy. Never ever heard any noise. Rooms were extremely quiet and never was the proximity to public areas an issue. In fact, we just booked category 3 on the Harmony.
womack214 Posted January 18, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 18, 2016 We stayed in 3208 on Allure. We loved it. No problems at all. We actually enjoyed being on the lower deck as well.
Wailea75 Posted January 19, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted January 19, 2016 Thank you for the replies! I now feel much better about the location. I'm still looking daily for a non-adjoining room. Crossing my fingers!
pandaball Posted January 19, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 19, 2016 I had a connecting room on my last trip on the Freedom and didn't experience any noise issues then. It really depends on your neighbors-to-be though!
Ocean Boy Posted January 19, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) I've stayed on deck 3 on Oasis in an Ocean view and loved the location. It is very quiet and no one who is not living on the deck has any reason to be there so there is not that much traffic. It is a great location at ports as when you return from port you can bypass the lines waiting for elevators, take a flight of stairs and you are home. I would not stress about the location at all. AND... it hardly looks like a deck in crew quarters as someone described it. Also, when the elevators come down everyone has already gotten off at other decks so you never have to worry about a full evevator that you can't get on to.
