NCL CAS offer - It doesn't hurt to ask

Thought I'd put this out there for people not familiar with Casinos at Sea...my wife and I sailed on a 7 night Caribbean Cruise in Jan 2015. I played my share of blackjack and it was a very down week with no ups...lost about $2500 and I think I earned only 1700 players club points. A few months later I got the first free cruise offer from CAS.

After getting another one for an inside cabin in October, I called in. The 6 boats listed were their older/smaller boats that I wasn't interested in sailing on. I was looking for a cruise over Presidents Day week and wanted to sail on one of the newer and larger boats with the wife and kids. To my surprise, they comped the first 2 guests on the Escape. I paid for my children and to upgrade to a balcony so it is far from free but much less than if I'd booked it through their site or an agent.

I was just surprised that they were willing to do it on a more prime week and new ship and with the little number of points earned. I suspect it had more to do with the loss. We selected the Ultimate Beverage package and just had to pay the gratuity. I checked NCL's site the weekend before the trip balance was due and they were offering the "pick 2" option. I called my rep on Monday and she was able to also add on the Specialty Dining option at no extra cost.

Great deal and your right it never hurts to check if any deals are a available. The most they can say is not at this time or yup you have X amount off a cruise or free cabin etc

We always got a free inside to balcony room and the drink card and upgrade to a suite but jumped ship back over to Carnival due to NCL screwing up my points/time played on my last cruise but I'm still offered comps by NCL

BUT for now as long as Carnival keeps offering me Premier cruises with a free Ocean view and $1,000 free cash plus all the gifts etc sent to my cabin, they've got me hooked lol

Good Luck and Win Lots 🍀🍀🍀💰💰💰🍀🍀

It never hurts to ask!!!I never thought based on the smaller amounts I have gambled on my last two NCL cruises that I would qualify for anything....I gambled about 1000 dollars on my Star cruise and really never won anything...I was a bit better in the luck department on my Epic cruise....I haven't even moved to the hot level yet!!! I called CAS because I was planning on cruising the Getaway in May and just wanted to see if I could get lucky with a discount....I called and it turns out I was able to get 20% off the cruise fare...I booked a mini-suite for less that the balcony room was priced at. I was able to get 2 free at sea promotions and the free 100 dollar casino credit they were giving away. I was more than happy...Especially since I did not go in with high hopes of getting anything....Here in Vegas you have to be a high roller and play a lot to get any good comps....I am not sure if we will receive anything special from CAS once we board the ship...It sure feels nice to save a bit of money to add to my gambling fund!!!

Ncl has treated very well over the past couple of years. Heading out on the Gem in their garden villa in 2 weeks. Met a bunch of ladies here on cruise critic and we all pooled our comps and got an amazing deal for this upcoming cruise.

Those Garden Villas are amazing.

I took the advice from those here on CC and called CAS. They offered me an Oceanview and we booked it on the Dawn for next March. The following cruise I called and they offered us an Inside so I declined....guess we had won a bit:rolleyes: We had a free balcony to book from CET so that was the next one booked. After another cruise, I called and they again offered us an Ocean view which we have booked on the Escape. Never hurts to call:D

It can get alittle confusing juggling all the Comp cruise voucher offers out there..... and why I spend alot of time in This catergory. ;)

I've been doing alot of jumping back & forth between NCL & Princess lately,

due to comps. Some are from casinos, and others from Ship casinos.....

After sailing on Princess in March, the ship casino gave me Free cruises so'

booked that for Oct. (this was a Princess Cruise voucher IN our Cabin at end of cruise,

Not making us Wait to see IF we qualify for a voucher, like from NCL.)

Our next NCL cruise is in 2 weeks, from Harr. LV cruise voucher.

Before that, I pick up NCL vouchers from Harr Tahoe tomorrow.

And Princess vouchers from Venetian LV in June.:D

And YES, you can Call & find out what More you can get. Sweet.

Gets alittle confusing at times, but beats the alternative.....Not going. lol

Have you tried calling CAS directly to see what you qualify for? We can sail on pretty much anything NCL offers for $300 x 2 = $600ish. I have qualified inside, ocean, balcony, mini suite, all the way up to full suites.....funny thing....out of pocket about the same each time, but when I get W2G, my next comp goes down....:) We get the Carnival Premier offers still, but haven't been in a while....maybe I should take them up just to stay active....we have just found with CAS/NCL we have a lot more freedom to choose when and where we want to go.

I recently booked a cruise directly through CAS so it definitely does not hurt to ask. I called CAS even though I haven't cruised since October 2014 (comped from land casino through CAS) and I was comped an inside room based on my prior play. Booked my first suite and got a nice bit off the asking price.

After getting off the gem garden villa cruise I had 4200 points and theo was 2906 real loss was 6029. Offered a mini comp on a 4 day sky for this June. I don't plan on taking it just wanted to see what I could get. I'm happy with that.
