malchancock Posted January 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2016 Hi all just booked for the Acadia trip to the Fjords in Sept. In the past we've always driven down from Yorkshire in the car the day before & stayed overnight. This time however were using the P&O /Intercruises coach service instead. Anyone ever had any problems with this? what's it like? Regards Malcolm
happy v Posted January 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2016 We used it last year and despite being apprehensive we were pleasantly surprised and are using it again this year.
ann141 Posted January 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2016 We nearly always use the free coach service which we pick up from Woodhall Services (probably as you will). It is lovely to be able to hand your suitcases over and next time you see them they are in your cabin! We have had no real problems and it is good to know that if the coach broke down or was stuck in traffic the ship would wait.:)
tartanexile81 Posted January 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) We used to go from Leeds and always stopped at Woodall services for Sheffield to pick people up. Pain-free, very easy- hand your cases over to the driver and miraculously they arrive in your cabin some hours later. Would recommend. caroline135 Posted January 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2016 We've twice used the service from Doncaster, picks us up about 3 miles from home. Very convenient & good service, and a real benefit for us of the select fare. Hand the cases over and no more worrying. Toilets on board but they did two stops, one quick & another about 45 mins for lunch. We take book/newspaper/iPad etc & just relax. Only slight niggle was leaving Azura last year there was a delay on the homeward journey, a problem in the luggage hall meant we had to wait for the last few passengers who's cases took over an hour after ours to appear. But if I'd have been in their position, it's reassuring to know the coach waited for them. If you'd have had a train booked, it wouldn't have done the same! The Azura cruise was an August one and the coach was full, but the previous cruise was October, coach had spare seats so loads of room for your hand luggage etc, we had the whole back row - felt like kids on a school trip [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
