samisone Posted January 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2016 Hello everyone! I went on my first cruise last April (it was supposed to be a one time experience but now I'm hooked!) and it took me a few days before I didn't feel kinda nauseous if I sat up for too long. I'm going on another cruise this April and am hoping I still have my sea legs. I know everyone is different. So, how long have you gone between cruises and still kept your sea legs? Thanks! Dayenu Posted January 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I don't get them as I've learned that this may happen. Learned here, on Cruise Critic. I get motion sick, so taking Ginger before, during, and after the cruise - after to avoid the sea legs.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2016 You are right. Everyone is different. As soon as we return from any length of cruise we feel like we are back on land the minute we get off the ship. Keith
t_car Posted January 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2016 My sea legs only last a day or so, and I only feel things moving about if I am in a confined area, like a small bathroom, or cubicle.

navybankerteacher Posted January 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Most people do not have repeat experience with seasickness. If you felt better after a couple of days on your first cruise, you should be fine from now on.
SuiteTraveler Posted January 22, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2016 We use Bonine for seasickness if needed. It is available in the US over the counter in an drugstore. Generally, we don't need it in the Caribbean or for a Med cruise that originates in the Med. If going to Alaska or from Southampton to the Med, we take Trans Derm scops which provide a much more powerful relief of motion sickness.
donaldsc Posted January 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2016 This is what you have - http://www.mdds.org.uk/ and there is nothing that you can do about it. It disappears by itself - usually. DON
