RCCL Freedom or Carnival's Magic?

We are ready to book! We are looking at a western caribbean itinerary. We have 3 kids (ages 9, 12, 14). Looking for the ship that will be the most fun for them and I love food. That's pretty much all we care about. :)

Take a look at this thread asking about sister ships to Magic and Freedom. Specifically, take a look at post #7 showing the main pool areas. The difference is pretty shocking.

These 2 ships hold about the same number of passengers, yet Freedom Class is considerably larger than Magic (Dream Class).

The ships are comparable somewhat.

However food is slightly better on Royal, but much better when it comes to activities offered for all, especially your kids' ages.

Royal - skating ring with shows, flowrider surf simulator, rock climbing wall

Carnival - none of the above

Both lines have good programs for kids of those ages to get involved in and make new friends, Royal just offers a lot more for them.

Go with Royal, unless there is a huge price difference.

 

In the end, either cruise will be great fun.

Ships are similar.

 

I prefer RCI over Carnival.

We settled on Carnival because it was $1400 cheaper. Thanks everyone!
