Jacob0525 Posted January 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Does anyone know if the Regal Princess has a weekly internet plan? I know a few of the cruise lines do. If Princess doesn't have an unlimited plan, then my son will just need to use his You Tube Red subscription for his iPad. With this subscription, you can watch any video offline. I will probably have to pull out the SIM card during the cruise just in case he gets any ideas. I've heard nightmare stories of cruisers having huge cell phone bills when they get back. He is autistic, so his iPad is his security blanket. Thanks for any input.
paul929207 Posted January 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2016 I don't believe Princess has any unlimited internet plans on any of their ships.
moki'smommy Posted January 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2016 No unlimited plans--you pay by the minute.
conifercruiser2 Posted January 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Have fun if you think a ship can stream video! Local storage is the way to go though. Lots of storage for a weeks worth of video! Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using Tapatalk
Pam in CA Posted January 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2016 You can pre-purchase an Internet plan or get it onboard. You get more bonus minutes pre-purchasing. There are several packages available based on the number of minutes. No unlimited (which in the past was abused so no more unlimited) or by a period of time. Locally stored video is the way to go, however. Much more reliable if the OP's son depends on it. Edited January 26, 2016 by ar1950

Quite a good connection can be had then. MTN is always hoping to upgrade all cruise ships. Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using Tapatalk
Colo Cruiser Posted January 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2016 I gave up on our Regal cruise and left most of my minutes unused. :(
Jacob0525 Posted January 26, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted January 26, 2016 The videos from You Tube Red will already be downloaded on my sons iPad. We won't need internet access to view these. It looks like we won't be getting an Internet package. You Tube Red is the way to go.
skynight Posted January 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 26, 2016 There are wi-fi hot spots in the ports of call. Just ask a crew member, they know where they are. On the ship it just what you say. Have the videos already downloaded.
