Yes. Several other posts report no issues with Uber picking up at FLL. Taxi from FLL to downtown Miami hotels will run about $75-80 on the meter -- expect Uber to run about $50 or less.

The price of Uber just like a taxi will vary depending on the time of day. Anytime during the rush hour and the price will be 1.4 to 2.0 times more for Uber. Non rush hour and you can do FLL to a downtown hotel in Miami for around $30. Last week at 7:45 am there was a surcharge and that same ride was $54.

Friday evening, 1/22/16, 6:23 PM, I used Lyft from FLL to the Intercontinental, Miami for $44. After cruise, Thursday, 1/28/16, 11:00 AM, POM to FLL, the fare was $33, also with Lyft.
