floridalover5623 Posted February 2, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 2, 2016 OK, friends, so I have booked and paid for the cruise and the flight. So I am all in. Heck or high water, I am doing this. Now the question-- if there are mucho spring breakers, would early or late TD be better? I am leaning toward late. Opinions very, very welcome! I'm thinking that late TD would probably be a quieter choice. People with kids & young adults tend to hang longer at the pools and choose AT seating. rcsharp121 Posted February 2, 2016 #27 Share Posted February 2, 2016 We did a 5 day the first week of March, in 2014, and it was Florida March break then. We didn't realize till we were at the pool with A LOT of college students that were beyond drunk.... they ended up puking in the pool. The pool was closed for the rest of the day and night. Most of them were under 21 and snuck booze on the boat or got very drunk at each port. (so drunk they were wheeling them on the boat in wheel chairs) We also had the Carolina Panthers on the boat with us that week, they were a little more rowdy in the casino at night. These items all made for GREAT conversation at the pool, bar or diner. lol Other then those couple things we had an amazing cruise!! And we did the anytime dining (usually ate around 730) which had little to no students or kids. i think a lot of students eat at the buffet or they're possibly passed out by then. You will enjoy the getaway regardless!

Rare geoherb Posted February 2, 2016 #29 Share Posted February 2, 2016 I'd opt for late traditional dining, but that's always my preferred choice. When we did short cruises on Princess, I did not notice a lot of drunk college age kids. Ours were over Christmas and in May during DH's breaks from teaching at a community college. As others have said, it's the roaming herds of unsupervised teenagers that are more apt to be annoying.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted February 7, 2016 #30 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Having done the 5 day on the Emerald in mid-December preceding the Christmas cruise, I can say that the 5 day attracts a much different crowd. There were lots of 30 somethings (as are we), groups of middle aged women, etc. there to parrrrrrrty. A drunk lady fell onto my husband in the elevator accidentally grabbing him you know where with one hand and me you know where with the other!!!!, and proceeded to hold back vomit!!!! [emoji33] Definitely not a typical Princess experience, and definitely not one I ever want to have happen again! Skywalker's was full of people dancing and drinking. The all inclusive beverage package seemed to be quite a hit on that cruise. All that said, we had a blast and would do it again!! I would recommend booking a balcony on Caribe if possible because from what we heard, the partiers tended toward the OBOV and Inside staterooms and were pretty loud. We didn't have any loud neighbors, thankfully. On the Christmas cruise, Security had to check IDs of young people in Skywalkers because there were so many teens onboard, with one even using a fake ID and another saying his cruise card was defective! Lol Security had a list of all teens, and their cards were noted to not be allowed in. Again, we would totally do a 5 day again, especially if it included Grand Turk; just watch out for the drunks!
