My cruise is 50+ days out and still no room assignment. I booked Inside GTY for 3. I did a mock booking today on Carnival site and other sites and only 1 inside available. :)

There is no way to know how many insides are being held for guarantees. You can hope, but after they start doing upsells, I expect you will get what you paid for.

There are staterooms held back that the website will not give you the opportunity to book. I know this because we wanted to book a couple of connecting OV's and couldn't do so unless we called Carnival (they simply looked unavailable as though already booked by someone else.)

 

I wish you luck but I wouldn't hold my breath. There's a lot more inside cabins than OV cabins.

Fingers crossed. This is my second time getting GTY. Last year, I booked OV GTY and ended up with a balcony on NCL. C'mon, let's go 2 for 2 baby !!!!:D

30+ days out I got my room assignment. It was deck 1 cat 4A. It was sooo small for 3 of us ( with wifey and daughter). I called and was able to get an OV Cat 6C for a total of $49. Woohoo.... all of the extra room is worth the phone call and $49. :D
