If traveling in the Haven can we bring our own butler?

well, I was planning on bringing our nannies, butler AND ladies maid (I think the scullery needs a good cleaning in our absence).

But here is the pertinent question:

Is the Ladies maid considered an appropriate chaperone for the butler and nannies? Or should they have separate rooms?

Also, do you think the concierge would be amenable to extending entry to the Haven for all of them despite booking them in IX insides?

Sadly, Nannies are not allowed to travel into international waters per the Jude Law - Nannies have been known to go down and never come back up. Its a safety precaution.

With everybody busybodying around about other peoples' butlers, nannies, and ladies maids, I may just sneak on my pet cat, dressed as the service dog.

Wouldn't the cat just bring you along as its service human?

Oh sure, could do, but, I have to be the human cause I have the credit card. Paw prints won't work. Even inefficient customer service may know paw prints just won't pay, do you think? Ah heck, they won't notice. And the cat could drag me a few extra shrimps or steak when nobody is looking.

In the past, my GF and I brought our Butler, but we had an Inside Suite and there just

wasn't enough room for the three (3) of us. Our Butler had a pull down bed and during the evening he had to go to the bathroom and my GF wasn't too happy when he stepped on her head! So, I would say "NO", leave your Butler at home! We will not bring ours with us again. It was just too crowded in our suite! Your Butler will have a good time in the Mansion with the Maids! Be sure and stock the Liquor Cabinet, so the Butler won't be upset he didn't get the UBP!

It seems that different people are receiving very different information from NCL's customer service regarding bringing their own butlers.

Some people have been told that it's possible, but that there is a limit of only one butler per stateroom, some people have been told that only people in the Deluxe Owner's Suite may bring more than one butler, and someone else heard that there was an unlimited number of butlers allowed but that a $15 per butler unlocking fee was levied.

Additionally, if your butler is Canadian you might want to check and see what the butler exchange rate NCL is providing because if there is a limit of only one, and they're exchanging at 1.36 Canadian butlers, you may have to drop your butler in port so as not to go over the allotted butler limit.

You may want to send an email so you have their policy in writing in case you show up and they don't want to allow you to take your butler.

Good luck!

LOL :D Now i have spilt coffee all over the computer ( pehaps i should get MY butler to clean it up for me ) . This is the funniest thread i`ve seen in ages .Makes a nice change x

A butler is on the list of prohibited items along with lawn mowers, hibachi charcoal grills, weed eaters and...strangely enough....dead ocelots.

They take it pretty seriously. I know guy whose last name is Butler and they wanted to deny him boarding. He pointed out that he is a Butler, not a butler and they realized their mistake and let him on but he said it was touch-and-go for a short time.

We just came back from a cruise and have never been so embarrassed in all my life. As my luggage had not been delivered to our cabin, we decided to go for a cocktail with our friends. As I closed our cabin door a member of the "security team" approached me with an envelope and said my presence was required in the Security's Holding room.

Right away all of my friends started to laugh and point their fingers at me, knowing that I was off to the Naughty Room because of the Alcohol I was trying to smuggle on board. So off I go, escort and all, getting scowled at by other passengers that knew full well where I was going.

I was taken into a dimly lite room filled with cigarette smoke, it's only source of light came from a single light bulb hanging down from the ceiling. And there in front of me sitting on a table was my Luggage, being looked at by a group of burly unshaven Security officers who were clearly upset. I was asked to open my luggage and I knew I was in big trouble when they moved aside the 4 bottles of alcohol and pointed at my Butler !

After roughly pushing me into the only chair in the room and shining that bright light in my face did I realize the depth of my situation. I won't go into the details of what happened the next 3 hours, but I will say I have learned my lesson and will never try to smuggle my Butler in my carry on again.

cheers...the Ump...:D

p.s. they let me keep 3 of the 4 bottles of booze, the 4th was consumed while the interrogation..... errrr......questioning was conducted by Security Staff.

I thought that you were allowed to bring your own butler on board and policy was that the butler that was assigned to your room would be assigned to a different room that already had a butler. I purposely left my butler at home in hopes the upgrade fairy would get me two butlers for the price of 1!

Please tell me this is still the case. Now I have to call and upgrade to the DBP (Deluxe Butler Package)

THANK YOU to all for making this post what it has become!!!!! A bright spot in your day while being paid by an employer for actually doing work and dreaming a little bit. Not sure if there is a way but if you search on the NCL Boardsi posted a while ago about a solution to the fireworks being discontinued that will make you laugh out loud...i sometimes post these funny lil questions in group form for a good laugh..

I love that laughter and humor is still alive and thriving on these boards.

you all brighten my day on a daily basis.

Cheers,

-Mark

If your ocelot dies in transit, I assume they won't be any hassle as long as it had a passport?

Noooo... you have the have an ocelot rider on your travel insurance to get the ocelot back if it dies. The passport is in case your turn your ocelot into a wallet, lose it in a foreign port, and need to be able to get it back if it is ever found. The passport needs to actually be in the wallet and not your stateroom safe.

We tried bringing ours once, and the butlers spent the entire time arguing about who was going to draw my bath and who was going to chill my wife's Champagne flutes. It was a nightmare!

OMG....such a perfect response....great humor..!!!!
