Rare Cruisergal1208 Posted February 19, 2016 #51 Share Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Does or will the Butler escort you to the theater? They will if asked. Why would you want them to do so? There are no reserved seats/areas in the theatre for YC like for suite pax on other lines. Edited February 19, 2016 by Cruisergal1208

I was told by our MSC representative they will hold seats in the theater that you have requested, also they will escort you there and also be their when the show is over to escort you back to the YC to avoid the mass exit from the show to get you to the lift. First I have heard of this. Maybe others will chime in with any experience with reserved seats in theater. Never had any problem getting an elevator back up to deck 15 after the show. Don't believe that is true. No special seating for YC guests in the theatre. I'm sure your butler would be happy to escort you to the shows but there is really no need...it is quite easy to get there and back on your own. As for getting you out quickly during the mass exit...won't happen. You will use the same elevators as everyone else so there is no 'quick' way to get back to the YC. Rare Cruisergal1208 Posted February 20, 2016 #56 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Ok, got an answer straight from one of the butlers. They used to do so when the YC was first introduced. Don't do it anymore.
Rare electro Posted February 20, 2016 #57 Share Posted February 20, 2016 i read on another thread that you have to pick early or late for dinner in the YC restaurant. Is this true? I hope not. Defeats the purpose of open seating. I don't eat the same time every night, it will depend on what i do in port, what time I have lunch etc.

They will give you the option of eating at a certain time upon embarkation and the first seating area/table you choose, from then you can have the same table, waiter, time to eat everyday if you want. We ate at 7.30pm on the first night but soon realised after meeting some nice Italian folk that we ate later from then on (9pm ish) just let the concierge know and they will arrange it with the restaurant. Easy. Open seating is open seating, BUT if everyone eats at 8, then you may have to wait until a table comes up as not everyone leaves straight after desert and coffee, we stayed for hours most nights as we had great times and laughter with our new friends. You will love it! I'm reliving the good memories and can't wait to get back to YC.

You dine at the same time at the same table with the same server. However, if you choose to dine at a different time the next night, you will most probably NOT have the same table and the same server. We were very attached to our server (Gabriel) and did not want to take the chance of not having him so we 'reported' for dinner at the same time every evening. We also loved our table and location and didn't want to lose it.

Just show up at the restaurant when I'm ready to eat and be seated. I'm hoping I can do the same in MSC YC. If I have to wait a few minutes that is fine. As long as I don't have to wait an hour. RichNY Posted February 22, 2016 #62 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Since there is no need to rush to MIA , how late can we stay on board ???
Rare Cruisergal1208 Posted February 22, 2016 #63 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Since there is no need to rush to MIA , how late can we stay on board ??? There is a limit to the time they will let you stay, even if in the YC. All are asked to vacate the cabins by 7:30and wait in the Top Sail Lounge till your butler can escort you off the ship. Please don't be one of those passengers that has their names called and called to vacate. This only delays the ship clearing to 0 and new passengers boarding. We all would like to stay on board as long as possible and sometimes are crying when they say it is time for us to go. :(

If you use one of the 2 lifts which give priority to YC guests you can override all the other calls, with your cruise card, that non YC guests have made and go straight to the YC. it's quite amusing to watch the faces of the others as they whizz past their floors, which of course they believe they will visit in ascending order. As the cruise goes by you can here the sighs of other guests when you place your card into the slot and they realise they are going to visit the YC floor before their own floors. That is why we go at the same time. It is a window table in the same spot every time we go.We love to 'people watch' during dinner. Great fun actually as the windows are tinted and they cannot see into the restaurant but you get a perfect view of them.

Yellow tape over the seats? Making everyone else in the theater wait until you leave ? You do get unbelievable service in the Yacht Club but I think your rep exaggerates a bit. boca7 Posted March 21, 2016 #67 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Do they ask what liquors you want in the cabin? Do you have the option of premium brands in the cabin or in the lounge. When we sail on Regent we choose 2 choices for the cabin.
