cruznjan Posted September 23, 2016 #151 Share Posted September 23, 2016 That poor man gets tormented enough from people trying get a couple of free chocalate covered strawberries. I use to read him blog for the humor of people begging for stuff. I had asked him about special events on our upcoming cruise (birthday, anniversary and retirement), and he said to FB him the day before sailing. He didn't sound tormented. He was very nice about it. LetsGetShipFaced Posted July 16, 2017 #152 Share Posted July 16, 2017 I cruised last year on the Valor and actually disembarked on my birthday. I received $50 spa card, $25 wine gift card and a free photo. I hadn't told my PVP it was my birthday but had listed it on my account. Going on the Magic this year and will again disembark on my birthday. Not expecting it again but it would definitely be an added bonus!
SAILONNOW Posted July 16, 2017 #153 Share Posted July 16, 2017 The $50 Spa Cards do not indicate that you have to use it for a Spa TREATMENT. So do not toss it out! Go buy a couple bottles of shampoo! $24 each. :)
Bruner1 Posted July 16, 2017 #154 Share Posted July 16, 2017 We are cruising for our 30th anniversary in September and it is indicated as a special occasion in our cruise info, so it will be nice to see if we get anything special from Carnival for the occasion. DebJ14 Posted July 16, 2017 #155 Share Posted July 16, 2017 We sailed over my birthday last September. I received a voucher worth $15.00 toward the purchase of $100 worth of photos. It went into the trash!

jellybeana Posted July 16, 2017 #157 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Got a $50 spa gift card on the Vista in March and heard about using it on products and they said no so in the trash. Asked if I could give it to someone else also no. Designed to make me feel guilty Sent from my iPad using Forums
Brad1972 Posted July 17, 2017 #158 Share Posted July 17, 2017 The $50 Spa Cards do not indicate that you have to use it for a Spa TREATMENT. So do not toss it out! Go buy a couple bottles of shampoo! $24 each. :) AWWW REALLY!!?? Our last cruise we got $50 spa card and $25 for bottle of wine cause we were celebrating our anniversary. We didnt use it though cause $50 doesn't get much in services or treatment at the spa except a hair wash but they were booked and couldnt get my wife in. we also got it on second to last day of our cruise. We dont drink wine much cause I dont know much of anything about wine and what to get that I would like. I like sweet wines but have no idea what to get or know what dry wines or blush or any of the wine terms mean. So we didnt use that either. If we buy a bottle, do we get it now or do they keep it till the morning of debark? I dont want to try and get a bottle safely through airline baggage handlers and get home and its broken all over inside the suitcase.
new.b.cruiser Posted July 17, 2017 #159 Share Posted July 17, 2017 I was happily surprised to get a 50$ spa card for my birthday and although it doesn't get you much in the spa I was able to get a beautiful gel manicure! Such a nice surprise! Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Forums mobile app

beshears Posted July 17, 2017 #161 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Maybe (???) it was just a coincidence, and you cruising the same date. :)
summersigh Posted July 17, 2017 #162 Share Posted July 17, 2017 As recently as May of 2016 -- There used to be a special occasions or celebrations tab somewhere on your booking information pages other than where you regular date of birth entry is. If you entered it there you were likely to receive one or 2 gifts like an inexpensive bottle of wine or a free picture or discount on spa services. They were more along the lines of marketing for CCL services but it was nice to be remembered. I don't know if that tab is still there.
kappagirl222000 Posted July 17, 2017 #163 Share Posted July 17, 2017 We celebrated our Anniversary on this past cruise. We got a cake at dinner and the staff sang to us and we got a gift card to the spa and for pictures.

gottaluvcruises12 Posted July 17, 2017 #165 Share Posted July 17, 2017 That's cool. We are celebrating our Anniversary on this cruise and also a honeymoon we never had the chance to take. Our anniversary is in June but September fit into our schedules along with I don't like to cruise in the summer time.
sfaaa Posted July 17, 2017 #166 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Guess everyone will celebrate an anniversary every cruise. IMO seems silly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes many will all of the sudden. Who can resist a bottle of free wine or gift cert?
joydisney Posted July 18, 2017 #167 Share Posted July 18, 2017 I was on Magic for my birthday in February. Received plate of cookies and chocolates from casino (don't ever spend a lot there!), and a small cake at dinner, with waiters singing. Nothing else, but I was not expecting anything. jamscckmc Posted July 18, 2017 #168 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Both last year and this I only got the free picture coupon. Same with my sister and daughter. Unfortunately there are very few pictures that are the free size. Would have loved the wine or spa.

summersigh Posted July 18, 2017 #170 Share Posted July 18, 2017 That's cool. We are celebrating our Anniversary on this cruise and also a honeymoon we never had the chance to take. Our anniversary is in June but September fit into our schedules along with I don't like to cruise in the summer time. I seem to remember back when the gift giving was happening that the occasion had to be within the month that you sailed. (we sailed May 5th but DH's birthday was later that month)
