Travel steamer?

My wife wants to bring a travel steamer on our upcoming cruise, and I'm trying to figure out whether it's allowed or not. I know irons are not allowed, but blow dryers and curling irons are. I just can't figure out where travel steamers fit in. Does anybody know the policy?

It will be likely be confiscated and returned the last morning. I would call to get verification so not to waste packing it.

I think the problem with steamers is that they may set off the fire alarms in the room. We did an engine room tour on the Journey last year and the chief engineer said he could always tell when a guest left the bathroom door open whilst having a hot steamy shower because it registered on the fire alarm panel!

There are two irons in the self service laundry room.

The steamers are not allowed. I bought mine several years ago, used it on 2 cruises than it was forbidden like irons.

 

Now its wasting space in a closet at home.
