ninel246 Posted February 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I saw something about Family Pizza Making at La Cucina. Has anyone done this? Is it free?
casofilia Posted February 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I saw something about Family Pizza Making at La Cucina. Has anyone done this? Is it free? Where did you see it? Which ship? Would be interesting on a sea day to help passing the time. Mike
Skoepper Posted February 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Breakaway May 2015 cruise to Bermuda they did it one evening at sea in the garden cafe. No charge.
optimusprime82 Posted February 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I'd be interested in doing that as well. Is there anything on NCL's website about it or it something that they include on the ship's daily itinerary?
Sauer-kraut Posted February 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 29, 2016 You'd probably most likely find it in the Kids Club schedules rather than in the general Daily.
helpmecruise16 Posted March 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We did it on getaway - it was in the daily, not in the kids club. it was pre made pizza crust and you put the toppings on. It wasn't that exciting.
rose102798 Posted March 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Sounds like fun to us!
ksmcali Posted March 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We did it on the getaway also. It was listed the daily. They provide the pizza crust and then you get to pick all the topping you want and pile it on. They place it in the pizza oven at La Cucina and call you when yours is hot and ready. They even had coloring sheets and crayons on the tables for the kids while you wait for your pizza to cook. We really enjoyed it. My 7 yo daughter thought it was great! We've also done the cupcake decorating as well!
theloo Posted March 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We did it on the Jewel. It was listed in the Freestyle Daily. Personally, I wouldn't do it again. There was a long line and it seemed to take forever for the pizzas to cook (like almost an hour, as each batch of about 4 took maybe 10 minutes). On the plus, by the time my kids' pizzas were ready, they were actually somewhat hungry to eat them.
wezie Posted March 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Both the pizza and cupcake decorating sound like fun. Has anyone seen this on the Gem?
LrgPizza Posted March 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Since the new á la carte La Cucina menu doesn't have pizza, I would assume this activity is gone.
kenteecruisin Posted March 2, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 2, 2016 We just did it on the Breakaway last week. It's held in the buffet area. The kids loved choosing their own toppings. It was a nice event.
Wavesprite Posted March 2, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 2, 2016 We just did both the pizza and cupcake decorating on the Jewel. They were listed in the daily and they were held in LaCucina. The pizza they have the dough (like a premade hard crust) and then the kids staff were behind a table with all the fixings. The kids chose the fixings, they got your name and then they went off and baked it. We each made a pizza and then one more for my mom. Same with the cupcake making....same set up. The frosting was weird, but my daughter loved it.
