cb at sea Posted March 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2016 And...get a guidebook. Freeport is an industrial port, so there's nothing "right there"...but Nassau is easy to DIY...you really don't need to pay someone to have a good time! Pick up a guidebook at your library! You can save a bunch of money with a little bit of research!

Rare Keith1010 Posted March 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Also if you scroll up to the very top of the cruise critic main page you will see a tab called Destinations. Click on it and it has terrific write up on many destinations around the world. Most people never even find this. It is very helpful. SuiteTraveler Posted March 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2016 IMO, for Nassau, I like Atlantis and also Blue Lagoon (which is much cheaper than Atlantis). Some people go to Junkanoo beach for free - it's walking distance from the port. There are also hotels where you can use their resort - look at resortforaday.com for both Nassau and Freeport. Have a great cruise.

cruiseapril Posted March 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) In Freeport, we took a van taxi to Lucaya where there is a big Marketplace, a casino, and the Grand Lucaya Resort. Many cruisers do this trip, as it it only $10 round trip pp. In Nassau we like to go to Cable Beach or Ardastra Gardens. There are many excursions described on the Bahamas forum.
