bethaniesmom Posted March 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2016 I am sure the bride and groom have the answer to this question but I don't. Have just made reservation for a wedding cruise, I know that we need to be there by 10-10:30 to board with wedding party, but my question is, do we need to be dressed for the wedding when we board or will our staterooms be available to us? I have seen many brides dressed in the terminal for boarding so I am thinking we will need to arrive dressed, but would rather not since we have a two hour drive to the port. Also, where is the wedding held? thanks for your help, Beverly
goofygal531 Posted March 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Weddings (bride, groom, guests) board first before all other cruise passengers. If you purchased FTTF, your stateroom will be ready. Otherwise, they will instruct you to head to the buffet to hang out. The wedding will take place in a lounge or the chapel, depending on the number of guests. We were instructed to arrive at the port dressed. I just changed my shoes for the wedding. You will receive all the details once you arrive at the Port. Enjoy! Micahs Grandad Posted March 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Few weeks ago we waited thru security with bride and groom and they were not yet dressed. Think they will find wedding party a place/cabin to dress
goofygal531 Posted March 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2016 The Bride's stateroom is guaranteed to be ready upon boarding. The wedding planners meet her at the Port and escort her on the ship, to her cabin and go over all the details of the wedding. Guests are supposed to arrive dressed. Now, with FTTF offered, you have the option if you purchase it, to dress in your cabin. When I sailed for a wedding, it was not offered yet. bethaniesmom Posted March 4, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 4, 2016 thanks everyone for the quick responses, I knew I would get the answers faster here than trying to track down the bride for an answer! FTTF is sold out already on this cruise, so I guess we will go dressed for the wedding. Beverly

At least you are driving, so you could also at least carry on all of your change of dress in a couple of garment bags. (I would do this even if you got the FTTF because even if your cabin is ready, there is no guarantee that your bags will get there right away.) Your husband should easily be able to change in one of the public washrooms. It might be more of a chore for you but would be possible if needed. have a great time
