Long pants vs "skeeters"

My day 2 day outfit, golf shirt & walking shorts. Now on an excursion in Panama

concerned about gitting bit. Yep I have spray with 100% DEET. Suggestions ---

wear shorts & spray legs, or wear long pants? :-)

Use the spray, and wear shorts! It's freaking HOT in Panama...I'd pass out from the heat in long pants!

CDC likely knows better than us as do the medical experts. They are all recommending long sleeves and long pants. Use your DEET.

Some experts advise wearing sleeves and long pants, but also spraying the bug spray onto the clothes as well as on bare hands.

 

By the way Zika isn't just about the danger of having a baby born with microcephaly. The CDC also suspects a link between zika virus and Guillain-Barre syndrome, a disease that causes muscle and even paralyisis. The zika virus can cause this in anyone.

When I was in Panama I went on an excursion deep into the jungle. I work long pants - a light weight pair of hiking pants. It was hot but not unbearable...
