Not sure, but I do know that I won over $3,000 in the Gem casino on my January cruise playing 3 card poker! I was down a few hundred playing craps.. sat at 3 card with $100 and walked away (about 7 hours later, lol) with $3,280. Hit 3 straight flushes and 2 three of a kinds. Plus many pairs, and straights and flushes. By far the best "run" I have ever had in any casino - cruise ship, or land based! Enjoy, and GOOD LUCK!

That's awesome. I had similar luck at the TAJ in AC. Sat with $100 at 3 card. Got 2 straight flushes trips and 4 of a kind and many straights and flushes hours later got up with about $2500 best table play I ever had

Congratulations on walking away with $$3,280. I hope you stayed away - because if you went back - perhaps just once, but certainly several times, you would have given it back to them, possibly with a bit more.

As an aside: I wonder why we only see posts on these threads concerning gaming outcomes from people who won -- when it is obvious that there must be many more people who lose.

NICE! 3 card is my favorite, but it's tough to win! I'm diamond in AC in the total rewards casinos. Heading down next month for 2 nights, staying at Ballys. Can't wait!

As a matter of fact I did not step foot back in the casino after that win. Paid for the entire trip, on board account, with money to spare! And of course more people lose than win, that's common knowledge. I don't (and others shouldn't either) gamble with money that I cannot afford to lose. I go with a set amount, and when it's gone, that's it! I've been lucky lately tho, between Januarys cruise, and my last 2 AC trips, I've left a winner each time, and I'm up quite a bit!

Ok, here is a losing story. I just got off the Gem on Saturday. I started off winning from day 1. I increased my bets and was winning and losing big amounts, but at the end of each day I was up at least a little. On day 5, I started off the night losing at $1500 at craps, then I lost $2100 at let it ride. I then went to 3 card poker and on the third hand I hit a straight flush with $100 on play, $100 on pair plus and $25 on the bonus and won $4400 on the hand, I played another 3 hands and hit a straight and walked away winning $5100. I then went to black jack and in a 1/2 of a shoe I won $6500 more. I was now up $7900 for the night. I decided to go to bed. I was walking by the host desk and decided to check on my points(1400) from my breakaway cruise to see if they were transfered over. They were and I now had those 1400 and another 13300 from this cruise that I had already earned. I told myself that I could get the last 300 points that I need to get to the Golden level. Well I got the 300 points in about 5 minutes playing craps and losing about $3000. In another 5 minutes I lost another $9000, I almost threw up. I was now going to bed down $4100 for the night. That loss pretty much ended my gambling for the trip. I ended up winning about $3500 overall and earning just under 15000 points in 5 days.

Not to needle any worse after that terrible end to a great day, but....

you could have thrown $300 in a $5/$10 slot machine, spinned til you spent the original $300 you put in, got the same pts. At worst, down $300..more than likely cash out with some of that money let or even up.

How is coming out ahead "...about $3,500 overall..." a "... losing story..." ? I am still waiting to hear from someone honest enough to discuss a casino story where he did not win.

Mrmike45, If you put $300 dollars through a slot machine and losing every spin, you will only earn 30 points(1 point per $10 played). Anyway that was not my point. My point was that I should have taken the big win for the day and got the points the next day. Sometimes though you just get on a roll and think that you cannot lose.

navybankerteacher, at the end of the day if you lose, you lose, period. I was playing big, but when you lose 12K in ten minutes, it is a big loss. A gambler should count each day as a separate session. That way it keeps you from chasing lost money.

Oh yeah...WTH was i thinking lol. $1 a pt...I'd be platinum every cruise lol.

And I get what you're saying. Last time on the gem in October, my wife hit a royal flush on Ultimate Texas Holdem. Think she got something like $4800 after tipping the dealer a few hundred. Few minutes later, I hit a full house on Let it Ride, with 3 of a kind in my hand. No where near what my wife hit, but maybe like $1500?

Anyway,we thought it was going to be "our trip". Low an behold, we wind up giving alot of it back but still coming out ahead. When you feel hot, you press it. Roulette is a prime example of this. You hit a number, you're upping your bets.

My bad on the points idea though. Should have realized that didn't make sense.

LOL - You seem fixated on people losing in casinos. It happens ALL THE TIME. People like to discuss/brag about positive things, not negative. It's human nature. So naturally people will be much more apt to post about wins, not losses. Just curious, do/did you have a gambling problem at some point? Are you a reformed gambling addict? You seem jealous when you read the posts here about people winning, I just find it strange.

No, I have never had a gambling problem -- perhaps because I am intelligent enough to realize that spending any significant time playing in a casino is virtually guaranteed to make you a loser. I think it is unfortunate that so many people either forget their losses (or simply lie) - and perhaps encourage unthinking people to believe that they have a chance to win - if they only play enough.

No - I am not jealous of anyone - particularly of those unthinking enough to believe they can win at a loser's game. I enjoy playing - with a limit - some evening I come out ahead but I have played enough to have guaranteed that the odds work out against me.

Just seems strange that you're so concerned with others losing their money. Why do you care so much if people only post about their winnings, and not losses? I find it strange you care so much about what OTHERS do. I'm not trying to be nasty here.. just seems funny to me, that's all.

If I cared about your opinion, it might seem strange to me that you take exception to someone raising valid questions about what are essentially misleading posts.

No one here said "they always win" or "you can't lose".. Please point out some of the misleading posts...???

When the only posts on a thread about casinos are about winning, the entire thread is misleading.

Wow, your logic is astounding. A few people mention nice casino wins, and your painties get all bunched up. Have a nice night :p
