Had a wonderful time on the new Escape. We were traveling with another couple who didn't make dinner reservations. As soon as we got on the ship we went to the main lobby and approached two officers who were helping guests, Tom, the Assistance Hotel Manager and Anil, the Food and Beverage Manager. We told them that we would like make arrangements so we could have all our dinners together with our friends. Anil took our rooms numbers and arranged everything. The next day we had to make some changes to our dinner reservation, we ran into Anil and told him our problem, he remembered us and even our room numbers. He again set up the new dinner times.

Rashida, the Hotel Director,s secretary, was very helpful with all of accounting and show questions. Our steward, Fidel, was the invisible man but when we did see him, he was charming and eager to offer his assistance.

Our window cabin on the 5th deck was terrific - very quiet and very convenient to everything. Shows were great. We liked the Broadway show, After Midnight, was the best of all of them. We enjoyed the dinner theater show and the dinner. Ate at Cagney.s three times and was obviously excellent. Also ate at LaCucina and Le Bistro. Both were good. We usually love the mussels at other ship's Le Bistro but the Escapes recipe was totally different.(It was ok but not not what we were expecting-would have ordered different appetizer). The ala carte menus in specialty restaurants can get confusing e.g. if you have a Latitudes free dinner you can have one appetizer and an entree under $20 at no extra charge. If you want something additional it's extra. If you have the dining package, you can have as many appetizers you want but only one entree but any price. Don't know why it's so different. O'sheehan's is still an excellent restaurant any time you go. For a restaurant that is open 24 Hours and serves sooo many passengers, it is the most efficient, friendly and tasty of them all - and free!

The water slides on this ship are by far the best. There is a slide that uses inner tubes. You and go two people on a double tube or use individual tubes. It has a light show all the way through. On port days there were no lines and it was open most of the day.

On the last evening is the Crew Talent Show. Definitely worth your time. We have sat through many and enjoyed them but this one was the best. They don't do the "Fountains" but it was fabulous. This crew truly reflects that the spirit of the ship comes from the top down and it shows. The Captain "Giovanni" prefers to be called by his first name as do all the other officers. That says it all. They are all very approachable and sincere in their wish for your best cruise ever.

The shops have a good selection of jewelry and souvenirs. Don't forget to get you free insect spray from the Guest Services. I thought that it was very thoughtful of the Escape to offer it free.

The evening parties were fun. Silas, the cruise director, is everywhere and wants to meet you - really ! The glow party was really fun as are all the functions in the Atrium. Just get there early for a good seat. Remember there are about 5,000 of your new friends going to the same functions.

We had a great time on the Escape, thanks to all the Officers and crew.
