4k interior French door

recent posts (December 2015) mentioned French doors are not opening at all.Can recent cruisers comment on if this is true and specify which ship.

The doors do not open. They are also obstructed in view which is why they classified as an interior room. They were sealed for better passenger security so you can only enter through the main doors. This way Carnival could better handle reports of theft.

We've stayed in 4K's several times before the "locking of the doors". At those times, the doors opened in and we would keep them propped open with the bed or garbage can. There is no possible way for the doors to hit the lifeboats.

Just off the Miracle. Only the door with the lock opened. Just remember to unlock both of the locks.

We had one of the 4K on the Pride last month and our doors opened..This was our 4th 4K they have always opened.

September 2015 they opened on the Legend.

We were just on the Miracle. Friends had a 4K. They were able to open their doors without asking.

I just booked a Pride 4K room for November 2018. 14-day cruise.

I hope at least one door will open. Was able to snag a cabin that looks to be between 2 lifeboats.

I've stayed in 4k's on Pride. The french door opened. And they swing inward, not outward. I propped ours open when I wanted fresh air.

O/V is not an upgrade from a 4k, especially when between the lifeboats.

Technically it is. 4K is an interior which is a lower category than an Ocean View.

Yes, of course I was saying " in my opinion" and not technically and after staying in 6 ( soon to be 7 ) 4ks all between lifeboats with fresh air and the sound of the sea versus a dirty and salt encrusted and scratched piece of thick plexiglass and no fresh air it's an upgrade. Again, that's an opinion based on personal experience.

To me it is not but to Carnival it is.

 

Actually last time worked out well. Gave me o/v and than we used one of our Diamond upgrades to go to extended balcony.:)
