Noise Generators for light sleepers

I see people mentioning that occasionally sounds from other floors keeps them awake. I'm not necessarily a light sleeper, but sometimes it's beneficial for me to have some sort of noise generator running to fall asleep. I've found that if I focus on that sound I can fall asleep faster.

 

On my iPad I use SimplyRain. It's a rain storm that you can adjust frequency of thunder, intensity of the rain, and an oscillating variant.

 

I'm pretty sure that same company has a white noise generator as well as a beach themed program.

 

I definitely planning on having this at the ready when we are in an Aft Balcony on Triumph!

We always use one for our DD at home. Just an MP3 player and speaker. We brought it. Very helpful when you are below the Lido and you get to hear tables and chairs bumping around at all hours!

I have two different apps on the Ipad for help sleeping. They both have various sounds. I am fond of the airplane cabin noise. lol :)

We used "Relax Melodies" simultaneously on our two phones on our last cruise. We were novices and booked under the pool deck (top floor at hotels...great idea...top floor of rooms on a cruise...bad idea).

Although I do use a sound machine at home every night, I prefer to use ear plugs on the cruise.

 

I'm an extremely light sleeper and even though we generally book staterooms that are sandwiched between other staterooms (so we don't hear nightclub or dining room noises, etc.) there are still people who walk down the halls at night talking loudly, or kids running and laughing, etc. So the ear plugs drown all of that out.

I fall asleep very easy when we cruise.

 

My wife uses ear plugs and it works very well for her.

for a wooden wind chime sound that can be adjusted for tone and wind speed. I like mine low and slow.

I have a sound machine I take on cruises with me. At home I use a clock radio on very low, but I doubt I'd pick up a signal out at sea.
