We're on the Reflection in May but can't imagine going ashore in Turkey, Looks like a few days on board so the casino is beckoning. Is it possible to charge cash in the casino to my cabin or am we better off taking cash, we were on the Equinox a few years ago but can't remember whether there was a charge when using to our on board account.

There is a 5% fee to charge to your account. The casino is not open when the ship is docked.

You are charged 5% for cash taken at the casino cage. I asked a captain club rep about writing a check at guest relations, but you are allowed only $200 per day to write a check for cash - no charge. Or take money from ATM - located in the casino - no sure what the fees will be (different cards charge different), but they are usually a flat fee and not a percentage.

Celebrity Cruises offers the following casino purchasing methods:

  • SeaPass Account: Guest may use their SeaPass account for up to $2,000.00 USD per day in the casino to purchase chips or tokens for gaming purposes. A transaction fee will apply.

  • Credit Cards: Guest may purchase chips or slot tokens with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express*, Discover, or Diner's Club credit card from the Casino Cashier. Maximum amount depends on the cardholder’s credit limit. A transaction fee will apply. *Special limits apply.

  • Cash: Guests who request a cash transaction from casino cashiers will be charged a 5% transaction fee. Cash transactions include cash advances and the purchase of casino chips and tokens. Guest with a "cash only" SeaPass account, which is not backed by a credit card, have restrictions in the casino.

Another possibility is opening a line of credit through the Blue Chip Club.

I had one approved prior to boarding the Sillhouette.

There are no fees but there is a minimum$$ you can request.

I can't remember the amount.

Celebrity Cruises

There has been a number of confusing posts on Cruise Critic on this and related subjects over the passed few months.

It is unclear to us whether it will continue to be possible to play slots in the Casino with cash rather than vouchers and/or your seapass card on all Celebrity ships. My husband plays the slots but only with cash. He will stop playing if he can no longer use cash.

Clarification would be appreciated. We will exchange and carry less cash if he no longer playing the slots and I can manage his disappointment in advance of our cruise.
