We are sailing on Freedom this Sunday. I just received this strange text from Royal. Assuming it is just a partial text??? Anyone received anything similar and if so, what is it for? Thanks!

Might be the standard arrival time suggestion or zika notice they have been sending lately. If so, expect to get it again, plus email and voicemail versions too.

We got the same thing. Also got an email warning about Zika.

Yes – we received a similar text. The text is incomplete but if you go into your email you will see the entire message regarding Zika virus.

I got it also. Sailing this Sunday on Allure. After I got a text I got an email from RCCL regarding the Zika virus and precautions they are taking.

You may still get an email. Royal's email system can be "interesting" to say the least.

Must be something about your phone that cuts it off at the end of one "text" worth of characters. The main gist of the message was that if someone in your party is pregnant and scheduled to go on a cruise to one of the areas of concern for Zika, they will allow you to cancel/reschedule. (Well, really, it just gives you some CDC information and a link to the spot on their website that discusses the accommodations they will make for pregnant travelers.)

I believe SMS texts are limited to 160 characters.

Correct, but most phones these days will handle larger texts. It just gets counted as more than one text, if it's longer than 160 characters. But the OP's phone apparently doesn't handle longer texts well and just truncated the message.

Oh, I see what you are saying. Yes, my phone sometimes displays a single message split into two text messages.
