vwrestler171 Posted March 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Go to the Fathom forum, it's a completely separate cruise line. It is just owned by Carnival Corporation. I don't pay to work on vacation and so I don't ever see me going on the Fathom line.
ATL_Miami_Cruiser Posted March 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2016 I am waiting on them to drop the price by at least 40% before I sail.
KirkNC Posted March 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2016 I am waiting on them to drop the price by at least 40% before I sail. That may take a while as Cuba is the new in thing and not many lines going there yet.

navybankerteacher Posted March 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2016 It will be interesting to see how a premium priced ship, with no casino or shows, will sell. While there are probably a lot of people in the US who like the idea of going to Cuba to engage in social programs, I am not sure that they are also likely to want to spend the money being asked. For the money involved, people who, want to visit Cuba as social workers could do a lot better going via a third country.
iancal Posted March 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2016 We would not bother with a cruise to Cuba. Cuba deserves more time. It is a large island with very friendly people and interesting place to go. Not to mention some of the best beaches that we have experienced. I think people are confusing the Fathom Dominican cruise activities with the Cuba cruise activities. There is no "work" involved in the Cuba cruise, and passengers would not be engaged in any "social work". There are social integration/cultural programs that one must be involved in as part of the agreement that permits this sort of tourism. That's all.
