KPfromCT Posted April 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Happy Friday Everyone!!!:D SO excited!!! Paying off our first Royal cruise today. I need help. Two cabins to choose from. 6602 or 10598 Both Superior Ocean View w/ Large balcony (hump) Which would you book, and why? We are currently in 6602, but I am thinking we want to be closer to the pool deck. Is there anything on Deck 11 that would be noisy in our cabin? Please give me your opinions/thoughts/anything.:D:D Calling the travel agent in two hours. Thank you!!!!
Clarea Posted April 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Don't see anything wrong with 10598, center hump, and closer to the pool deck.
Tommy3putts Posted April 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) I vote deck 10. We were on deck 10 on center hump on Allure last month. Loved it, no noise issues. Edited April 1, 2016 by Tommy3putts
KPfromCT Posted April 1, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Thank you, both!!! Do you think we'll feel a lot more movement up there?
Tommy3putts Posted April 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2016 We didn't. You'll be fine. Of course all bets are off if you have bad weather.
Rare cruising sister Posted April 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2016 I was on deck 6 and loved it. It was close to Boardwalk, Central Park, promenade and the main dinning rooms. We used the walk to the pool as exercise prior to the Windjammer!
Clarea Posted April 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Thank you, both!!!Do you think we'll feel a lot more movement up there? You will feel more movement than deck 6, but how much depends on the sea/wind conditions of your cruise.
MaiseyM Posted April 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 1, 2016 I'm on deck 7. Very limited feelings of movement. Too big of a ship.
Duke Mazer Posted April 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 1, 2016 I think you are closer to more venues on 6 where you can just go down/up a a floor or two. easy to get around on the stairs. On 10 you are still 3 decks from the pool 4 from windjammer, but really think you will have a good time regardless.
bigsky Posted April 1, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 1, 2016 We loved 6! We never felt any movement with this large of ship. I'm sure if you were in a storm, you'd feel something?? The location of 6 is close to so much. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
MaiseyM Posted April 1, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 1, 2016 For what it's worth, I prefer being closer to the elevator. That may be one more thing to consider. It's nice to not have to walk down a long hallway when you get off the elevator
OfTheSeasCruiser Posted April 1, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 1, 2016 I felt more movement on deck 8 of the Allure, than on deck 12 of the Oasis.
robtulipe Posted April 1, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) I felt more movement on deck 8 of the Allure, than on deck 12 of the Oasis. Cabin location on a deck has more influence on motion than the deck height. Oasis class ship is 1188 feet long but cabin go to deck 18 or no more than 180 feet high. Best cabin location for motion is central mid-ship at water line where the axis of motion is. A cabin at the very front on deck 8 is going have more motion than a mid-ship cabin on deck 12 in the same sea conditions because it is around 500 feet away from that axis but only approximately 40 feet lower or closer height wise. Think of a teeter toddler when imagining ships motion. Edited April 1, 2016 by robtulipe
