CruiserJul Posted April 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2016 We are cruising on the EOS next month with our DS who is 18. Just wondering if there were any activities specific to those age groups since they are too old for the kids clubs and too young for the bars. DH & I cruised on EOS before but without kids so I don't remember if they had anything. Thanks!
Grandma Dazzles Posted April 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2016 18-year-olds can go into the bars - visit, dance, listen to music, etc. they just cannot drink alcohol.

They should just read their Cruise Compass every night. The Enchantment, with its shorter cruises, attracts lots of college age kids, many of whom will be on summer vacation starting in May. I am sure that they will find plenty of like-minded people to spend time with. :)

Paul65 Posted April 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Not sure about Enchantment, but there were no organized activities for our 18 year old son on Liberty last week. He managed to meet some other kids and had a good time, but something geared to that age group would have been nice. He's still in high school, and not really part of the "adult" crowd yet, but is not allowed to participate in the organized "teen" activities any more. He was allowed to use the casino, though we're not really a gambling family. We got some free vouchers to try the casino and made use of those, including the DS. jennmaybe Posted April 5, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2016 Yes. Thanks Bob! Hubby did way too good of a job teaching our 18 yr old how to play "hold 'em" several years ago, so it will be interesting to see how she does in a real casino. :D:eek:

Miryam1234 Posted April 5, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 5, 2016 Our daughter cruised with us on Splendour last Oct from Venice (she was 18) and on Feb on Enchantment from Port Canaveral (she was 19). The difference is, that during the European cruise she was allowed to drink wine & beer (even to purchase a package) and on the Bahamas not. However, our waiter at MDR had no hesitations on pouring her a glass of wine on dinner. He (coming from Croatia) explained that they have "a tolerance" when European young adults are traveling with their parents and behaving well. She hardly drinks more than that in Finland either (even without us present), so we have had no troubles or concerns with her so far. It seems that drinking or smoking is not such an interest to the younger generation in Europe. At least most of her friends and classmates are not consuming alcohol the same way or amounts as we used to do when we were young. Good for them! Neither of the cruises had any formal activities for 18-21 aged. She did not actively seek for company either, so maybe there were informal groups somewhere.
