!! Oasis !! 9 Days Medley Cruise ^_^ The Ultimate Review and Complete Pictorial Guide

Recommended Posts

Gambee, it is unfortunate you had to move, but it is nice to see that you had some resolve. Karma will come for them.

As for Holland House you are 100% right, one of the worst places on the entire beach. Especially with how the polluted water is right in front of it. From your pictures the clouds looked like they broke in time for the water taxi ride to the ship.

Is it really a bad place to go? Cant decide between Mullett and Holland House?

The running joke here is that Holland House is actually a very nice place, but are jokingly trying to discourage people from going as to not overcrowd the place ;)

Shrek just happened to stroll by. I mean, really! Is that Shrek, like for real!!!! How is that possible, here on the ship? :D

This reminds me of being on Allure back in 2011. I was 3 months away from doing my first marathon and I ran in the mornings and sea days on this track. There is a dressing room at the aft end here for when the characters perform in the Aqua theater. I was running my late morning miles when that #$%$ big hippo came around the corner, walking backwards on the track. We ran into each other on that vary spot. The hippo didn't have an escort like Shrek did here. She was headed for those stairs.

We were sat immediately, and given our menus. I had studied the menu online, and I was sad to find that they no longer offered the duck tacos.

I wonder why 2 of the 3 featured cocktails were illegal?

Phil,

Being that I am going on Oasis in 2 weeks, I am loving this like most of your reviews. I hope you will forgive the occasional poking of fun, or silly criticism, but as an IT professional I hate seeing expensive LCD screens lying flat on furniture. That Apple laptop is begging to be sat on!

Hi Gambee, the Oasis is actually longer than Allure after it's drydock, but won't be longest once Harmony arrives. I give you a lot of credit for how you dealt with your smoking neighbors, I think I would have lost it. Keep the great review coming!

Good evening All!! Gambee I am a first time cruising sailing on Lady O on May21st with my husband, just turning 21 yr old daughter, 13 yr old son and my Mom. We are all new at this cruising thing so it should be very interesting. Just want to tell you how helpful this review has been and how much I have enjoyed traveling with you and your Mom. I have laughed so much just reading your adventure. I look forward to reading more every day. I literally plan out my evening so I can cuddle under the covers with a coffee, warm blanket and reading glasses to get more of the trip. You are a riot!! I can't wait to be there mused and make my own adventures with my crew!!Thank you for taking your time out to do this. God bless you and your Family.

After we were done, I realized that I had completely forgotten my second battery for the camera. So we went back to our old room and ask Putu to open the room for us, we then noticed that they had moved everything already. So we headed to the new room.

The bags were not there yet, but they quickly arrived. The guy who moved them got lucky cause we were there when he got there, and scored a tip.

This was the second time that we did FWD balcony, the first time I did not care for it. But that was not the case this time around.

Wait, never mind, I also a fwd balcony on the Breeze. How could I forget?

And then God blessed me with this view!!!!

My special gift, I got to see “A” for the first time in my life. Had we not been moved from rooms, I had totally missed her.

HOW AMAZING IS THAT!?!?!!?

Apparently, the owner is suing the paint company because it was reflective enough... Um, ok sure, can I board her for 5 minutes, reflective or not.

which stateroom were you moved to? We are in 10178 on Oasis next cruise and it looks pretty close to location you were in just 2 decks down.

I am so glad to hear you were able to move to a different cabin and get away from your inconsiderate neighbors! Sounds like you liked the new cabin even better than the old one, too.

If you and I ever happen to be on the same cruise, we have to get together and go geek out looking at yachts, especially sailing yachts! DH just doesn't get my obsession. We did a snorkel tour last time we were in St Maarten that took us past a number of the big marinas and I was in heaven! We were also in Ft Lauderdale this past fall right before the International Boat Show, so a lot of the big yachts were in town for the show. Amazing!

I did the America's Cup Yachts excursion in St Maarten and I agree with you, it was one of my favorite excursions ever! :D

Awesome pictures and fantastic shoots of all the boats. Glad you were able to move from the scum bag neighbours, though I'm sad they never walked plank!

So were we, I am sure Karma will take care of them. Our cruise got so much better after that.

Once you get off of the water taxi at the pier in town, which way do you walk to get to the Holland House?

We LOVE St. Maarten and always rent chairs at Great Bay beach, but they are sometimes really crowded together and not cushiony at all! After reading a few reviews about Holland House I think we will try it out in September when we are there.

Was Subway right behind you at the Holland House or at least close? The prices for food at Holland House look a little out of our range.

Thank you and I am loving your review! Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see your next review on the Escape!

Debra

I guess I should have been more clear about that, actually I think I omitted it. Not sure why it is not like me. When you get off the water taxi you make a right and walk about 1-2 minutes and Holland house is right there. Very convenient. The subway is also right there next to holland house, it is to the right of the hotel about 3-4 stores down, in a little alley. Everything is extremely convenient.

How are the drinks handled at Holland house...more so Hindi you "redeem" the four included for $25?

Also was the subway close? Always looking for less expensive dining in ports.

They give you a little card, and you can take them all once or one at a time. Yes, they are included in the $25 rental.

As stated in the response above, the subway is right there. There are also other restaurants nearby.

It was sarcasm, lol. I have not been to Mullet, but we did love Holland House. Specially the proximity to the ship, and how convenient it was.
