I copied this off the forum at some point but failed to capture the name of who made it. if someone can provide attribution, please do.

Suite categories are designated by the letter “H” (Haven suites) or letter “S” (Non-Haven suites). Stateroom categories not beginning with the letters H or S do not receive perks.

Some ships have S categories only: Sky, Spirit, Sun, Dawn, Star, and Pride of America

Some ships have S & H categories: Jewel, Pearl, Gem and Jade

Some ships have H categories only: Epic, Breakaway, Getaway, Escape & Bliss

• Haven suites have access to the Haven regardless of where they are situated on the ship. The Haven has its own pool, hot tub, sauna, and sundeck. Some have their own restaurant and bar within the Haven complex. Some Havens also have a retractable roof over the central area. Haven configuration varies based on ship class/generation

• All suites have complimentary access to a private restaurant for breakfast and lunch. On “Haven Only” ships Haven Suites have a private restaurant for all three meals.

• All suites have Butler and Concierge service.

The Concierge can assist with dining reservations, shore excursion booking and guidance in

many other areas. He or she also provides delivery of invitations and information to the suite, and

performs all escorts on and off the ship.

The Butler provides delivery of daily amenities, meals en suite, replenishes coffee and other

supplies, and oversees the maintenance of the suite. Gratuity should be based upon services

provided.

• All suites receive invitations to a special cocktail reception with the Captain and other Officers.

• All suites receive priority embarkation {including express through check-in, as well as a private lounge with various amenities to enjoy while awaiting escort aboard} and disembarkation {which includes a private area to gather, and escort off the ship & directly to the VIP Luggage area and Porter Services}, as well as priority tendering.

• All suites receive one bottle of Sparkling Wine, one large bottle of water, a bowl of fresh fruit (replenished upon consumption) and a fresh flower arrangement in their suite. (Note: Garden Villas, Deluxe Owner's Suites and Owner's Suites receive Champagne instead of Sparkling Wine)

• Garden Villa's receive 6 bottles of alcohol with unlimited mixers, soda and water, while Deluxe Owner's Suites and Owner's Suites each receive 3 bottles of alcohol with unlimited mixers, soda and water. All other categories do not receive complimentary liquor.

• All suites are provided with a variety of Elemis brand toiletries.

• All suites are equipped with a Coffee/Cappuccino/Espresso Machine (Most are Lavazza pod-style machines), however the Sun has Lavazza machines in the Owner’s Suites, but drip-style coffee brewers in all other suites (because these suites cannot accommodate Lavazza devices).

• All suites have access to the Pre-Cruise Concierge service, which helps to coordinate your individual selections on pillow types, coffee and tea preferences, and a variety of special requests. Phone number for this service is 855-625-4283.

• All suites (except the SG and SJ suites on Deck 12 of the Star and some suites on the Sun) have a portable phone, which can be used throughout the ship.

• All suites are equipped with the "Bliss Bed" which truly lives up to its name, fitted with upgraded bedding. Also provided with upgraded bathrobes, as well as slippers.

• All suites have an expanded Room Service menu. Essentially, order whatever you want, and if it is available on the ship you will have it.

• Some suites have access to a reserved section of the theater on some ships, based upon stateroom category, as well as other factors, which can vary from sailing to sailing.

We had no m and m's. No flowers. No gummie Bears

Did you ask for M&M's or gummy bears?

There is so much they *could* bring; they can't bring everything.

There seems to be a "regular" set of snacks that are delivered unless one requests something else instead of or in addition to those.

Also, as with just about any job, some Butlers are just better than others.

We thought our first one was "great"... until we met other Butlers, and then *we* knew better.

You guys have been so helpful. I have never sailed on NCL and all the info is great.

Kandy and Ron from Texas

I hope you have a wonderful cruise. The suite experience on NCL is fantastic. Ask for anything you might want and if it is possible, you'll get it and if not, your Butler will let you know.

I usually call the Pre-Concierge (1-855-625-4283) at a 100 days prior to my cruise and make my dining reservations and we go over any requests I have and I choose pillow type, coffee or tea type, etc.

Again, have a wonderful cruise and don't get spoiled by the suite experience! Please let us all know how your experience was upon your return.

I had read about Cagneys but when I called they said Cagneys was only open for dinner. We go in August the 10. I am a little concerned about this as we have never sailed on NCL and all of the reviews on this website about POA are not real good. We usually sail on Regent seven Seas but wanted to go to Hawaii and not spend 4 days at seas getting there and back. We will make the most of it. I am looking for a good wine store on Oahu to buy wine to take onbard.

Thank you for providing this info.

Kandy from Texas

Regarding Cagney's: For suite passengers it is available at embarkation for

lunch and breakfast and lunch everyday to the last day of the cruise.

Cagney's is available by reservation for dinner by everyone with a paid specialty restaurant fee.

Regarding wine stores CVS pharmacies (formerly Long's Drugs) and Safeway

stores have wine sections - just remember that (cardboard) box wines are

not permitted and then there is the $15 corkage fee per 750ml bottle.

I don't know due to Hawaii's finicky laws if NCL has the Viva Vino - reported

that the selection is not all the best but it includes the corkage fee and you

do not have to lug the wine on board the ship. - *** Readers Comments ***

Just want to add that if you haven't already contacted the pre-cruise Concierge desk, do so at 855-625-4283. They have a list of questions re your preferences (want extra towels, regular and/or decafe coffee and tea, pillow preferences, wish to make advance dinner reservations, etc.?). Sometimes we find at boarding that our requests weren't passed on to our butler, but usually they have been, so everything is ready for us. It helps the crew do a faster turn-around time if they know in advance what we want.

For next week's cruise in a 2-bedroom family suite on the Gem, we are asking:

empty the 'fridge of the mini-bar items (more room for wine!)

stock with skim milk & lemon wedges

extra hangers in master bedroom

4 pair small slippers (the large are really big)

ensure there are 2 chaise lounges on the balcony

extra hand towels in master bath

foam egg-crate topper for children's bedroom pull-out couch (the main bedroom mattress is wonderful!)

sample of all pillows, so our guests can choose ones they like

7:45 am delivery (except for final morning) of chocolate croissants and sliced pineapple.

If there is anything on the ship that you like, ask your butler. He/she can deliver bowls of M & Ms, bring cookies & milk for the kids every night, make party arrangements if you're entertaining. We've had butlers deliver cheese & crackers for a champaign party (no charge), or fill it out with mini-sandwiches.... If butlers know what you like or don't like, they will go out of their way to make you happy. I think in it's price range, no other lines do the suite life better than NCL.

As a last reminder, when you get to the pier, ask for the 'Haven' check-in line. After security, you're directed to the Suite check-in and escorted to a VIP lounge while waiting to board. The concierge will also make arrangements when disembarking to escort you directly from the ship.

Thanks got some great tips from your post. My dh, dd and myself will be in a Haven Aft cabin.. Can't wait!! I know we have pre-paid tips, but what should I tip my butler? Thanks

Your butler and your concierge is NOT included in any of your pre-paid tips. Please tip them at the end of your cruise. I've found most tip the following way, depending on how much the use them:

Butler- $10.00 per day per person (this person will deliver daily snacks to your room every day, breakfast lunch or dinner to your room when requested, refill your coffee tea etc. etc. etc. )

Concierge- $5.00 Per day per person ( this person will make any dinner reservations you need, excursion reservation for you need, help you with early disembarkation at the end of your cruise or four ports as well as embarkation when you arrive. )

With reference to the wine, I tried to find out multiple times before we left, and was told no package. We went to Safeway in San Francisco and purchased wine and a case of water. We we got on the ship they had on the dailies that a discount was offered on I think 6 bottles of wine. We still found it cheaper to pay the corkage fee, but it would have been nice to know the other was available.

What type of pillow choices do the offer?

This is the last list I kept:

Climarelle - body temperature regulating

Feather - goose down

Hypo-Allergenic

Overfilled Firm - firm but not too hard

Reading Wedge

Ultra Foam - deluxe memory

The pre-cruise selection I got last week for the Escape had the same list as that, except the down pillow option. But, perhaps the more important point is that the pre-cruise concierge should be sending you a list of options for you to select.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this package a couple of times in our roll call, but in any case, I'm sure your wine was much better based on the few times we ordered off the ship's wine list.

You did mention it, but every time I tried to confirm it with NCL they said NO...yes, our wine was better
