I have never tried to upload the Fun Times before but going to give it a shot. Unfortunately I didn't age the sea day but can answer any questions. 554e7aae646bfddb91135c2d96890832.jpg067d4776faa733db839568e8689cbeac.jpgb545f6dff3ed4f24ce67349429662884.jpgf83f484ca07e19eb0d43a2f7ec1f460f.jpg

Happy to answer any questions. Ship was old but the upgrades were very nice. Classed up the ship a bit. Service was good, food was very good. I never understood why Carnival gets such a bad rap sometimes. This was a short, relatively inexpensive cruise and yet all the food we ate was very good. Food in the main dining room was all hot and very tasty. Had the warm melting cake every night, still my favorite dessert on any cruise. Guys Burgers and the Blue Iguana pork tacos were to die for. Breakfast burritos were good too. They did also serve arepas there at breakfast which were pretty lousy. We have cruised most lines and no matter what you hear, to us, the food is consistently better on Carnival than Royal. Comedy shows were good. Rooms always kept clean. Anything else you want to know?

Ah sweet Fantasy[emoji7]. We sailed on this sweet old lady 3 times and are now headed out on the Sunshine for 10'days at the end of May. So nervous about being on another ship when the Fantasy was just the right size. I am going to miss her being here leaving out of Charleston[emoji17]. Thanks for the great memories!!

Just off her too, and smoking was allowed in a designated area outside of the casino around the bar.

I loved the ship, I was extremely impressed with her condition and had such a great trip I booked another one.

Thanks @Jenal2! Was smoking allowed in the casino, and if so, how smokey was it? Do you think non-smokers would be ok there, or is it best avoided?

It was very smoky. I never went into the casino, but between that and the bar right outside where people were smoking, it was hard to walk area without coughing.

What cabin were you in & was Serenity a nice area?

We were on the 5th floor, M226. We had 2 adults and 2 kids so it was tight, but no different than any other ship. Serenity was very nice, relaxing, but not terribly quiet since you could hear the music and noise from the main pool.

Did you do Your Time Dining?

How was the service /wait?

Is there a smoking section on Lido?

We did Your Time, showed up each night at around 7 and never had to wait. When we would leave, however, there was a large line. Not sure about smoking.

Hi!! I'm a new cruiser and booked our first cruise two days ago to board the Fantasy May 30th coming back June 3rd.

Is this a good cruise for first timers? I'm on a really tight budget (thank goodness we don't drink!)- is about $10 in one dollar bills and maybe a $5 or $10 for steward enough?

My dining time says 6pm (early) but we're wait listed at the moment. I don't really care when we eat, as long as we get to try some of the great food I keep seeing! Was the food as good as it looks?

Also... we're celebrating our 10th anniversary- the plan is to just chill and soak up some sun... and maybe have some alone time in the cabin. Kinda just want to re-awaken some romance. Is this realistic?

  • 3 weeks later...

How was embarkation? I'm asking because I'm taking my elderly mother on her very first (and probably only) cruise, and she gets tired and flustered very easily. Would "Faster To Fun" be worth it to get her in the cabin any faster? Or was it relatively smooth and and non-stressful?

FTTF or waiting until after 1:00 to board would probably be a good idea.

I took my mom last month for her first cruise. She can be the same as your mom, easily frustrated with lines or waiting. I tried my best to prepare her. Thankfully, this was the easiest embarkation ever! I think Miami really does a good job and my mom did not have one complaint!

Miami is using the staggered boarding times, which I found to really hold the stress down. Our time was listed as 10:30, and we actually arrived at 10:20 but we were ushered right in. No security line at all, we walked right up to the scanner. No waiting time to check in. The lady who checked us in was absolutely wonderful ... so cheerful. We were given Zone 1 and we had a seat in the waiting room and were on board by 11:30, which is not that much after the FTTF cruisers. To me, paying for FTTF would have been a waste just for boarding. I forget the actual time the cabins were ready. I believe they told us 1:00, but we were able to drop our carry-ons off before that.

I hope you and your mother have a great cruise!
