Where to find wool markets, knitting patterns, and knitted goods in Tallinn, Oslo, and Helsinki ?

My daughter is an avid knitter and would like to find knitting shops during our travels, particularly shops that would be easy for us to get to from the ship.

 

Any suggestions?

Tallinn seemed like wool central. They are very proud of their sheep! I brought a small wood and wool one home.

 

There are lots of knitted goods in the market on the pier. The prices seemed to be good, and not overly expensive compared to the old town shops. There are several "tourist" shops in old town with the same sort of knitted goods. I was not on the lookout for yarn, however, so I can't help you there.

I bought yarn for my sister in a shop in Honningsvåg. I can't remember the name, but it was part of a gift and decorating shop on the main business street along the harbor. Doesn't sound like you are going there though.

Wish I could recall exactly where I bought yarn here, but from it I knit a lovely shawl and had enough left to felt bowls for friends who were on the cruise with us. The shop was on a side street.
