Nicole,

I just followed you on Facebook and Instagram!! I love to follow travel writers and yours looks to be fun! I am on deck 7 in a Havana interior cabin #7448. I am a little nervous about the band at night in the bar as I think my cabin is right above the bar and there are no cabins on deck 6 below mine. I would LOVE if you would check out the hallway of deck 7 near my cabin of 7448 at night when the band is playing and see if you can hear it? I know crazy request but you asked :):)

Thanks so much and have an amazing time and I will be watching for your Facebook live posts!!

Thanks

Kellie

I will be in the same room on the May 24 sailing. Will try to remember to look back on here to let you know as well.:):)

Have read that the smoking section is on deck 5. Looks like it is adjacent to the Havana Cabana area. How does that affect the cruisers whose cabins are close?

Have a great trip! Thank you for the forthcoming info can't wait to see

I believe the smoking section is all the way at the other end of deck 5 Forward, and the Havana Cabana area is AFT. The smoking section seems to be right outside the liquid lounge.

To my understanding you aren't supposed to be bringing visitors to the Havana area. That goes against the concept that the Havana cabin passengers will have enough chairs and space at the pool to not have to worry about chair hogs. Plus, I am sure some people who want to sit on their balcony in this area aren't going to be thrilled that others are bringing guests from other parts of the ship as that tends to get noisy. Let's face it, if just you and your spouse are sitting on a balcony or patio vs. a group of people, it is only natural that the talking and sharing will get loud.

Although the Vista is a very attractive ship, I sadly must report that it is the worst for cigarette smoke of any ship I've ever sailed. Smoking is permitted in the casino (deck 4) which opens into an atrium decks 3-5. I have a deck 6 forward cabin and can smell smoke every night. It permeates the entire ship like no other.

I'd like to know what the lines are like for the Skyride and other attractions. They look great but if the line is an hour or so they swiftly lose their appeal!

Depends when you go. At the beginning of the cruise the lines were anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes. Obviously sea days are the worst. However, as the cruise progresses they shorten. I found the best time to go is on a port day. I walked right up with no line up.

Sigh, that is actually very sad news. And here I thought that the smoking in the casino was going to be contained! Ah, well, thanks for the warning.

looks like Carnival copied the NCL Breakaway layout with that :(

First, Enjoy your cruise!! I'm dying to book a Havana room, but can't bring myself to do so until I hear more about it like (1) Can you hear a lot of noise at night (say after 10 pm) from the Havana Bar area if you have a balcony or suite at the back of the ship? and (2) do you really have to wear a wristband all week? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, then I would want to re-think it. And a general question (for my husband), is there a cigar bar or any venue where he could enjoy a cigar after dinner? I can't wait to hear your review.

I wish they would go to fountain drinks. I feel like it takes no time at all for an open can of soda to go flat out there at sea. Not sure if it's the sea air or what! Found the same thing to be true for the cans we'd bring onboard with us.

I'm pretty sure John said that there are both fountain drinks and cans. Different bars have different types. Can someone clarify this?

I'm pretty sure guests can visit the cabin. They just can't go into the Havana Pool area or outside Havana bar until after 5

Hi, first off - thanks for the generous offer to come back with Vista news! If possible, would you please share a Funtimes or two when you return? I'm curious to see what types of events, movies, etc. will be going on during the sailing? Thanks again!

Another vote for some good photos of the spa area. I usually like to get the spa pass, but - I haven't seen any pictures of the Vista, except about 8 heated tile loungers, and a really small thalasso pool, or it may even be just a whirlpool. Wondered if they have the sauna, steam room, dry heat room, etc. Thank you so much - and can't wait to hear all about it!

What is your name on FB so I can follow along?

Oh this is terrible news. :(

I thought they'd have some new state of the art smoke disappearing method... What a disappointment.

We were on the maiden voyage and the lines for the sky rider were only a little long on the first sea day and then it only took about 30-45 min to get to ride but well worth it. The views are awesome. You have to wear closed toe shoes and they have lockers that lock you can use. There are 4 bikes and they take about 3-5 min to go around the track or faster if you hurry, I'm 60 and not an athlete, hehe. You will love it.

Hi - What deck did you use to leave the ship when you were in port? I'm trying to figure out a good meeting place.

Deck 0 at every port. Meeting places for tours were either Reflections dining room or Liquid Lounge theatre.

This was not my experience at all which was quite the opposite.

Having the casino on Deck 4 means passengers can walk the entire promenade deck (5) without having to walk through the casino. A vast improvement.
