Karnyval Posted October 13, 2016 #76 Share Posted October 13, 2016 A few questions regarding the outdoor promenade deck: Does it wrap all the way around the ship? Is it good for walking a few miles? Is it noisy? Does it have lounge chairs? Thank you.. Yes and no. It wraps, but the aft portion is reserved for the Havana stateroom occupants - at least until 7pm. Harry3534 Posted October 13, 2016 #77 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Just beware the ATM it charges 6 euro per withdrawal. Wait till you get off in port and use the ATM's that are either in or close by to the terminal.

You cant accuse Carnival as being nickel and dime with those rates! :D Sounds more like extortion! Edited October 13, 2016 by les37b
Rare jimbo5544 Posted October 13, 2016 #79 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Wondering if any recent Vista cruisers can provide any details on how long it took to get thru customs when landing in BCN? Past years it was pretty quick but I am hearing mixed reports now (and I know at least 2 large international flights landing when I get there....) thx :) Can't speak for recent, but in July, we went through at 11 am and it took almost 2 hours. We heard after that the passport scampers went on strike which groups frequently do - whenever they want as it appeared. They only had two inspectors open for the airport..... The French recently pulled that stunt in Dover causing motorways to become car parks. My youngest amongst them. The 2 hour max you would expect to take from home to ship, was extended by 18 hours. Of course, this was nothing to do with the French "punishing" the UK for Brexit and everything about the heightened security we were told about and explains why the boarders to and from Belgium were delay free and open. Of course This was because Belgium has not terrorists committing acts of violence in France! Realistically, queues are getting longer everywhere now. In 2007 4h30m wasn't enough to get a connecting flight in Atlanta to Tampa..... and that was before this liquid ban!

After a red eye flight it was not the start of the vacation I was planning..... Got through dreaming of the shower I was going to take when we reached our hotel. It worked... Atlanta is surely no prize, but we are global entry now, that helps a LOT. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Atlanta is surely no prize, but we are global entry now, that helps a LOT. Indeed the whole situation was blamed on security but it was the French doing what they do best. For my next cruise in March, Silversea offered me connecting flights to San Juan from either JFK, Miami or Newark with a 2 hour connection. Absolute madness. We eventually agreed Ina 6 hour stop in JFK. We arrive in San Juan about midnight, but at least the connection should be just fine.
nmwhitby Posted July 29, 2017 #83 Share Posted July 29, 2017 I was looking at the deck plans and it appears that cabin 1472 has a shorter "hallway" on the inside compared to it's twin on the opposite side cabin number 1485. Could you please check on that and maybe even post a pic? I like the odd shaped rooms and am very curious about this. Thanks! Did you ever find pictures of these rooms? I'm booked in one for January! cruise-baby Posted November 9, 2017 #85 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Nicole, I just followed you on Facebook and Instagram!! I love to follow travel writers and yours looks to be fun! I am on deck 7 in a Havana interior cabin #7448. I am a little nervous about the band at night in the bar as I think my cabin is right above the bar and there are no cabins on deck 6 below mine. I would LOVE if you would check out the hallway of deck 7 near my cabin of 7448 at night when the band is playing and see if you can hear it? I know crazy request but you asked :):) Thanks so much and have an amazing time and I will be watching for your Facebook live posts!! Thanks Kellie We are sailing on the Vista also in rooom 7448 in March 2018. Did you find the room to be noisy at all? I didnt think the noise would be an issue until i read your post. Would love to know? Thanks!

Rare shark&minnow Posted November 11, 2017 #88 Share Posted November 11, 2017 This was not my experience at all which was quite the opposite. Having the casino on Deck 4 means passengers can walk the entire promenade deck (5) without having to walk through the casino. A vast improvement. I agree. We were on the Vista for 10 days last fall. We were in a forward cabin, I'm not sure which floor, but we never smelled smoke. The funny thing about being all the way forward was that the dining room was all the way aft and I swear the walk was about a mile! I thought they should put in one of those moving sidewalks like at the airport! LOL
