Jessieasanders Posted May 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2016 First time NCL cruisers here. We have a 12 year old (who is just shy of her 13th bday by 2 months at sailing), a 14 yr old and a 16 yr old. The 12 year old has cruised before and hated the kids club. From what I've read, NCL is very strict about the age requirements to get into the teen club, is this true? Anything we can do to get them to bend the rules? Also, are there kids club/teen club activities that overlap? Our 12 yr old normally hangs out with our 14 yr old, so she is bummed that she may be segregated from her on the ship. mjkacmom Posted May 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2016 She will not be allowed in the teen club, and they are never combined.
dexddd Posted May 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2016 They are very strict to the ages. Which ship and when are you going? They do sometimes combine the age groups especially if there are not many kids on the ship for activities around the ship like volleyball or basketball. Jessieasanders Posted May 8, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted May 8, 2016 We are on the Getaway, sailing May 29 Sad to hear that they are strict regarding the ages. I guess I understand, but still my youngest is going to be bummed

I'm guessing you are okay with your 12 year old daughter being around 16 and 17 year olds, because she has her siblings to look after her, but others I'm sure would not be happy to have their young one hanging out with kids that are that much older and that is probably why the rules are so strict.
