Escape or Getaway smoking question

Does anyone know if it's true that Getaway has a smoking area on the waterfront., and that Escape does not. My DH obeys the nonsmoking rules, but I would book whichever one is more liberal in policy.

I was just on the Getaway and the Sunset Bar on the Waterfront is smoking. There is also a seating area right next to it that is partially enclosed with ashtrays.

My husband smoke cigars.

 

Does the Escape have a section for cigar smokers or do they smoke with the cigarette smokers in those designated areas?

The escape does not let you smoke on the waterfront. Only inside cigar bar. Getaway and breakaway does allow it.

Want to clarify on escape you could not sit at the outside bar on the waterfront and smoke but I think there where a couple tables. On getaway and breakaway you where allowed to smoke at the bar

Just on the Escape, 30 Apr -7 May. No smoking area on the Waterfront at all. The enclosed Cigar lounge was on the same floor and just off of the Waterfront.

Wow! I wonder when that changed? Definitely smoking areas there on my Escape cruise. That surprises me. Then again, on my cruise there was no smoking in the casino, so maybe they traded. haha

Getaway smoking areas:

 

Sunset Bar on Waterfront starboard, no cigars allowed outside of cigar bar.

 

Casino.

 

Pool deck port side in a semi enclosed room.

 

H2O bar deck 16 aft.

Wow! I wonder when that changed? Definitely smoking areas there on my Escape cruise. That surprises me. Then again, on my cruise there was no smoking in the casino, so maybe they traded. haha

 

 

On the Escape transatlantic, smoking was allowed outside on deck 8 by the 5 O'Clock bar. We spent a great deal of time out there during the TA and it was always crowded.

 

A week later for the Escape's inaugural cruise, no smoking out there period. I asked Sean about it and he said that when the doors opened, the smoke would waft across to La Cucina and people complained. So a decision was made to keep the Escape waterfront 100% non-smoking.

 

Getaway still allows smoking at the outdoor Sunset Bar but at the bar only.

I thought I'd read somewhere that there were smoking allowed areas on either deck 17, 18 or 19. Does anyone know about those areas? On Escape.

At the upper pool bar on Escape, there are high-tops where you can sit and smoke and also along the upper rail. Also smoking is allowed at Spice H2O and if you are in the Haven, deck 19 forward.

and that area on the Getaway is so small and overcrowded it's ridiculous. I don't smoke but even I felt bad for the smokers who had to try and have a smoke in such small areas. It was nuts.

It is a small area but I found it to never be overcrowded. We were always able to find a space at the bar and usually a seat in the smoking area. We usually just stopped by to smoke and then moved on.
