PollyCG Posted May 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2016 We are sailing on Reflection 9/19/16 cruise to Western Mediterranean. Will be getting into Rome at 8:00 pm on 9/17/16. I am wondering if the trains going to Civitavecchia run that late at night? Would like to stay in Civitavecchia for the two days. Any help would be appreciated. Check out the Europe board, under ports, should qet questions answered there. If you don't find a train available, a great car service is Romecabs.com Have used the service several times. When we go out of Rome, we stay at the Hilton Rome Airport hotel, then take the car service to the port the next morning.
CapeCodCruiser Posted May 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Are you landing at 8? You need to add time to clear immigration & customs and claim your bags. Then you will take train the commuter rail FL1 (Runs every 15 to 30 minutes) from FCO to Roma Trastevere. http://europeforvisitors.com/rome/transportation/leonardo-express-other-trains.htm In Roma Trastevere you will change to a Civitavecchia bound train: http://traintorome.maxonthenet.altervista.org/downloads/Roma-Civitavecchia%20Railway_Timetable-Pocket_20160111-eng.pdf&lang=eng This could take another 2 to 3 hours. you might consider staying the night at the Hilton connected to FCO or hiring a private car to take you directly to Civitavecchia - depends on your budget and how well you manage long travel days.
