We are sailing on Reflection 9/19/16 cruise to Western Mediterranean. Will be getting into Rome at 8:00 pm on 9/17/16. I am wondering if the trains going to Civitavecchia run that late at night? Would like to stay in Civitavecchia for the two days. Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't find a train available, a great car service is Romecabs.com

 

Have used the service several times. When we go out of Rome, we stay at the Hilton Rome Airport hotel, then take the car service to the port the next morning.

Are you landing at 8? You need to add time to clear immigration & customs and claim your bags.

 

Then you will take train the commuter rail FL1 (Runs every 15 to 30 minutes) from FCO to Roma Trastevere.

In Roma Trastevere you will change to a Civitavecchia bound train:

This could take another 2 to 3 hours. you might consider staying the night at the Hilton connected to FCO or hiring a private car to take you directly to Civitavecchia - depends on your budget and how well you manage long travel days.

I assume you have been to Rome before. Civitivechia is a nice little town, but not a huge amount to do
