Contagious Diseases

Does anyone know if RCI will quarantine you for contagious diseases such as a diagnosis of strep or something else that needs antibiotics? I'm always leary of going to the ship's doctor for fear of being quarantined!

As opposed to not going to the doctor and spreading whatever you have all over the ship so that other passengers can enjoy being sick with you. Thanks a lot!!!

Most lines will only quarantine you for a gastrointestinal illness, not for anything else.

On a cruise about a year and a half ago - came down with an eye infection - absolutely needed to go to the ships dr as it was getting worse and needed meds. Was not guarantined. Unfortunately meds doc gave didn't improve the situation (and they were $$) - upon returning home - eye dr advised wrong meds given (bacterial infection vs viral) and YES I should have been guarantined - very contagious.
