Poop_Deck Posted May 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Hi all! We are staying at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort for 3 days post-cruise. I know there are not many restaurants near the resort, so we will be venturing out- mostly for lunch & dinner. I have been looking at reviews on Trip Advisor, but there are SO many good food options, I thought I would ask here for some of your favorites! No ultra fine dining, as we will have our 7 year old with us, but otherwise anything goes! Thanks in advance[emoji41] Tracy

Thanks in advance[emoji41] Tracy These restaurants are north of your hotel: Sandbar Grill (at the Sun Tower Hotel & Suites) - beachfront dining next door to Pelican Grand - great breakfast, salads, and flat breads Greek Islands Taverna (A1A & Oakland Park Blvd) Shooters, Flip Flops, and Bokampers (on the Intracoastal Waterway on the south side and north side of the Oakland Park Blvd draw bridge) Cafe Martorano (Oakland Park Blvd, just west of A1A). Might be a bit too fancy, but the food and service is very good. Fishtales (33rd Street) Blue Jean Blues (33rd Street - not appropriate at nighttime for kids, but the pizza is amazing, and you can order to go). Nick's Italian (A1A) Greenbar Kitchen (A1A) In Lauderdale by the Sea (off A1A and Commercial Blvd): Beach Cafe (on Anglins Pier) Ocean 101 Aruba Beach Cafe Alexsandra's (Jamaican) La Spadas (subs - great to pick up and take to the beach) Jo Jo's Tacos Basilic Vietnamese Grill Get Reel Ceviche La Cucina (Italian) Edited May 25, 2016 by brunello22

Thanks in advance[emoji41] Tracy Trip Advisor isn't the greatest for restaurants, their number one restaurant isn't a restaurant. You got great advice from brunello. Flip Flops is the only reasonably priced restaurant on the water. Especially on Sunday from 11-7.
music Posted April 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Any local, good restaurants? We will have a car, we like local fun places rather than chain type restaurants..
CruiserBruce Posted April 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Did you read back in this year old thread? There was a list of local restaurants. There are many threads here on FLL restaurants. Also a "Sticky" at the top of the board with websites for FLL restaurants.
music Posted April 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2017 I missed the sticky! I found this one via search. I guess I didn't look to see how old it was.
brunello22 Posted April 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 19, 2017 I missed the sticky! I found this one via search. I guess I didn't look to see how old it was. I will just add (from last year), that Jo Jo's Tacos is no longer open. Some fun places: Riverside Market (there are 2, but we like the location off of Davie Rd, adjacent to the New River). It's a great little local hangout in a neighborhood, lots of interesting craft beer, great pizza, sandwiches, salads. The other location is just south of the FLL airport, near SR 84. http://theriversidemarket.com/ Funky Buddha Brewery (Oakland Park) https://funkybuddhabrewery.com/# Rhythm and Vine Beer Garden (Flagler Village) http://rhythm-vine.com/

brunello22 Posted April 20, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 20, 2017 (edited) Thank you! Any suggestions for dinner in Miami while I have you? :) We are staying near the airport. Thanks in advance. While I cannot recommend places around MIA, I can recommend local spots near Downtown and Coconut Grove: Sabor a Peru ( Peruvian - love the ceviche here - 29th & Biscayne Blvd (US1) ) http://www.saboraperu.net/ La Moon (Colombian - between SW 7th & 8th Streets - get the Colombian hot dogs, sooo goood) https://www.lamoonrestaurant.com/ Garcia's (fresh seafood caught daily, they have their own fishing boats - on the Miami River) http://www.garciasmiami.com/ Crust (Italian - around the corner from Garcia's) http://www.crust-usa.com/location.html Lokal (Coconut Grove) Burgers and beer, and then go next door to Vicky's House for the milkshakes!! http://www.lokalmiami.com/site/ http://miami.eater.com/2017/3/9/14870286/vickys-milkshake-tasting-room-coconut-grove Edited April 20, 2017 by brunello22
