Fare differences after booking, room class sold out?

I know I can get a reduced fare before final payment is due if the price of my stateroom drops below what I paid.

Do I have any options to do this when my stateroom class is sold out? Obviously I can't see the new price of the stateroom if there's none available. RCI has a new promotion going and other cabin classes seem to have gone down considerably, including both those above and below my class.

This is one of the prime examples of how, beyond added perks, a cruise specialist TA who is a top producer for your preferred line, can sometimes work wonders.

Though that TA may not always be able to get you a money saving exception to a posted rule, it's always worth asking (and may be very productive).

Here's a perfect example:

On one occasion, after final payment, a special partner TA promotion was made available by our preferred cruise line to a selection of TAs. Our TA was not in that rotation of limited specials. I sent him the e-mail I received while I also called him. He asked that I wait on the line while he called his regional sales rep. Within five minutes, I had an $800 refund.

That's why I use a cruise TA. My present cruiser, at the time of booking there were no more rooms in my category because they were all in good for a group booking . They called up their RCCL report will freed up 3 rooms for my friends and I.

As for your other question, their is no way to get a price change if there are no rooms available.

Some may assist you to cancel and rebook but that is risky if your room gets sold while waiting

That being said, I got my price readjusted recently from a sale and my agent had to cancel and rebook for me to save $100 but she gladly did it. All it took was me to send her a quick email and she did the rest.

You can upgrade and get the difference refunded (or charged) before final payment. If you are dead set on your current cabin, your hope is that someone in that type of cabin cancels and you would be able to see if there a discounted fare.
