I have been told lots of shops and other things are closed on Sunday's in Europe. We will be there Sunday July 31st and I have not booked an excursion thinking it may just be a beach day if things are closed that day. Is it true or should I make some plans for that day. Any info would help thank you.

I will post a brief answer here (have addressed in much more detail on the France board...many times). On Sundays, we think the best place to go is St Paul de Vence. Nice, if one gets there in the morning, also has their Flower Market on Tues-Sun. But the Flower Market does close early on Sundays (shortly after noon). Eze Village is also very open on Sundays..

As to Cannes, many of the tourist oriented shops/boutiques are open on Sunday during the prime tourist season.

We arranged for a private tour of St. Paul de Vence and the Village of Eze Cote d'Azur. So glad we did. Amazing!

IMO, Cannes is nothing to write home about. However, the flower market was closed when we were there.
