Another reason to join MLife

If this has been covered, I apologize. MGM properties in Las Vegas have started charging for parking. Self parking is $8 - $10 for 24 hours and valet runs from $13 - $18. This applies to guest staying in any of their hotels. There is an option for 1 – 4 hours; I think it is around $5, not sure. However, if you are a MLife member at the Perl level or above, the self parking is free. If you are at least MLife Gold or above, the valet parking is free. I know that Diamond + and Pinnacle equate to MLife Platinum not sure about the other levels. Anyway you look at it, signing up for MLife is free and they match status with RCCL and you save parking fees in Vegas (MGM properties), you can’t go wrong. I travel to Vegas for three weeks each year, so as a Mlife Platinum (RCCL PC) member I plan on saving a bundle on valet parking.

You really get some nice discounts on the rooms too. (I'm Diamond=Gold at MGM) They just started the parking fee, were going for a few days in August to the Mgm Signature and they don't charge either way but it will be nice if we have to drive to another MGM property at least it will be free.

Ya its a very hot topic in the MGM community, I think they feel the others (Ceasars group etc) will follow suite. (going to be a lot of revenue)

They were the ones who started the resort fee, and guess what, everyone followed with that too.

Charging for self parking? Sounds like they are in trouble.

Wondering how much they charge for chair rental at the slot machines ;)

Many of the vegas hotels in that part of town are now charging for parking because there is NOT sufficient parking for the brand new arena, so this is a way to make revenue if they are only going to park and go to the arena as opposed to going to the casino to gamble.

It's been a few years since we have been to Vegas. Things change quickly there.

Yes, it does, I live in Las Vegas and at least locals park for free until the end of the year, I'm diamond plus so I will see what that gets me too!

Can anyone tell me if the status match stays in place, or if they drop you down after not hitting enough points for the year? I enjoyed some nice perks last year with my status match, but believe MLife dropped me back down this year.

You still retain your status with MLife that matches what you are on RCCL. However your offers you get from MLife are based on your true money into their program..so if you are playing like a pearl member you receive offers based on your play...I am platinum as I am Diamond Plus but I don't give them a lot of play as I have better benefits with Total Rewards right now and status but I do enjoy a lot of the machines as a slot player that MGMproperties have that Harrahs do not so they do get some of my $$$. I didn't have a vehicle two weeks ago so wasn't affected by the parking fee but wouldn't have to pay with the status. One thing I do need to check into is if the resort fee is waived with the MLife status as it is with the higher tier status at Harrahs. All you need to do to get your matched status is to go to the rewards counter and have them update your cards. Our royal number was in there but due to their new updated system it had lost our status on royal to which i whipped out my phone and showed her online where it showed our status with royal. No problem and new platinum cards with a smile!

Chris we are MLife members, but haven't been to Vegas this year and our card says September 2016 so I know that means that the card expires after that until we come back to Vegas. Do I have that right? We spent more time cruising then going to Vegas this past year. Thanks in advance for your reply. Kay

Thanks for the info. That's great. I really loved having the priority check in and separate lines at all of the restaurants! It saved a TON of time. To answer your question, resort fees are only waived based on play. They don't waive with status.
