Mikkar Posted June 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2016 I received an offer from CAS that includes airfare to Europe but they can't tell me which airline they will fly us on until it's closer to the date we leave (Oct. 19). I looked up which airlines fly from Boston to Rome and there are a few that I would be a little nervous flying on. Has anyone booked air travel to Europe through NCL? Mikkar Posted June 21, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted June 21, 2016 yes, they have us on Delta direct to Venice from ATL.. Thank you for the reply. That is such a relief! I would feel more comfortable with Delta than some of the other options.
ColinIllinois Posted June 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2016 I haven't used the NCL's Air/Sea program because during my research I have found that they don't always use the most direct or convenient flights. They have several travel partners that they use for air so someone flying out of ATL may not be on the same airline as someone flying from LAX. mustymom Posted June 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2016 We usually fly out of Newark NJ or Philadelphia and NCL has had us on United or American to Barcelona and Copenhagen.

Did they tell you what hotel they were providing? We called yesterday for the same promotion and it was "30 days or less before travel, we'll tell you". jwatford Posted June 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Mikkar did you get free airfare and a cabin from CAS? I always get offers from CAS but they never include airfare. gl1200a Posted June 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I wondered when this topic would come up. This is the strongest offer I have ever received from CAS. Had no desire to go to Europe however can't pass this one up. Our air travel was told 30 days out. Hotel in Barcelona was told Fira Congress. Was told cabins are all GTY. Once I saw how people board and disembark at each port I understand this. So have a GTY Mini for Oct 2nd sailing out of Barcelona.

We called yesterday for the same promotion and it was "30 days or less before travel, we'll tell you". The agent looked it up and she said that it was the Hilton Garden Inn at the airport but there was a disclaimer that they reserve the right to substitute a similar hotel. Also you might get a non stop but it is unlikely.

andy8733 Posted June 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I don't know much about that airline. I'll have to do some research. Alitalia are the national carrier of Italy, same thing as Air Canada, Air France etc.....I've flown within Europe with them and all good

I wonder what I am doing wrong???? Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app I usually get pretty decent offers for the cruise only, but this is the first time it included airfare, hotel and transfers. I think the offers just went out so you may still get one. Keep an eye on your e-mail.

luv2gonow Posted June 23, 2016 #18 Share Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I also received email regarding free air and hotel but it was direct from NCL. Don't know about CAS. I am booked on the NCL star and final payment was already made. So I am not calling to see how much it would be. I'm hoping not same price I paid. I would be nervous about it though....I would be flying out of JFK which you would think would guarantee direct flight. But they don't guarantee it. I was considering booking air for my med cruise on Epic(last summer) but they would not guarantee direct. Although I did book a land/sea tour(thru NCL) that spent the 1st week in Venice, Florence and Rome....then boarding in Rome. They used 3rd party tour group which was Gate 1 travel. Seriously was worried turned out it was the most amazing trip ever!!! Happy planning Kerri Edited June 23, 2016 by luv2gonow
don't-use-real-name Posted June 24, 2016 #19 Share Posted June 24, 2016 Depends a great deal on what region of the world you are in - - - In Europe - Delta with Air France; KLM; Alitalia as code share partners covers a great deal of the cruise ship ports. This as well as American and British Air - United and Lufthansa. In the Caribbean both Delta and American have the edge. In Alaska - Alaska and Delta have the major hosting. For the Mexican Rivera any airline flying to Southern California can work a package deal. With CAS and AAA a whole nother bunch of deals can be arranged. So with that - you fill up my ship - my casino - and my airplane have we got a deal for you ! Your local TA and/or PCC are generally able to hook you up with something but not so much a great deal like the volume CAS people. Read or watch your local media for group affinity travel organizations tours and cruises. If these folks can't fulfill their quota they will take almost anyone to do just that ! The cabins offered are usually the bargain IC and OV but Balconies can be upsold and negotiated. Sometimes the mini-suites and suites can be had for a token to high rollers or seasoned frequent cruisers.
