Can anyone tell me about the gym and what classes they have on the Regal. also, is the gym located at the bottom of the ship and if so are there large windows to see out?

The gym is up on deck 17 with great views. All the cardio equipment face floor to ceiling windows. The room is long and rectangular shaped. They have a nice selection of weight machines as well. There is a fairly large room for aerobic classes (spinning, boot camp, etc.)

I find that the gym onboard (Royal) has all the equipment I use at my gym at home, maybe in different configurations (machines can be used for multiple types of workouts) but just in smaller numbers.

Depending on what you lift free weight wise you may be disappointed. I can't remember off the top of my head but I seem to remember the free weights end on the lower end, maybe 50-60 pounds?

One nice thing I discovered on our Royal & Regal cruises is that it was open before the listed time of 7:00 AM. Unlike many other Princess ships, on the Royal & Regal the gym is located over the buffet area so there are no noise issues for passengers.

On Sports deck (19) there is an uncovered 1/7 mile track with lanes for runners & for walkers with several stations located around the track to do some light weight training.
