Any recommendations for restaurants in Baltimore?

A little off topic but we are driving down the night before our cruise and staying at the Holiday Inn Express near the stadium. I would like to go someplace that has good food and that we could walk to if possible. The only thing close that I've found are restaurants in the casino.

When I was searching for a hotel I saw that the HI Stadium has a free shuttle to Camden Yards and other attractions. Depending on what time you want to eat they may be able to take you to the Inner Harbor or Little Italy. Try calling the hotel and see where the shuttle will take you and what times and policies are.

If you can get to Little Italy or the Inner Harbor you have will have a variety of of good Italian and seafood restaurants.

I haven't been there in a few years so I cannot suggest any in particular. You can always check Tripadvisor.

I'd get an Uber down to the Inner Harbor and eat somewhere at Harbor Place. I've had good meals at various restaurants there over the years and it's a nice place to walk around and do a little shopping as well.

You'll probably need an Uber or a cab, but look up the Wine Market Bistro. It's a retail wine market with an amazing restaurant and bar. A little off the beaten path, but not far from the Inner Harbor, or the stadium area, and not particularly well known to out of towners.

If you're into wine, bottles are sold at retail plus a corkage fee instead of the industry norm of close to 200% markup over retail (and you can buy wine to go to take on your cruise!).

Second choice would be the B & O American Brasserie at the Hotel Monaco. Good food and a great bar. But again, it's a walk from the stadium.

There are definitely places in the Inner Harbor, but Harbor East or Fells Point is better. I've eaten in and enjoyed food in Little Italy, but it's hard to remember where. The only things I can remember in Harbor Place are chains that you could eat at anywhere, or some generic Irish Pubs.

I would second this suggestion or the suggestion that you go to Little Italy (if you like Italian Food). If you do go to Little Italy save room for dessert at Vacarros when you walk around after dinner.

Thank you everyone for your help. I did go on Tripadvisor but it is difficult to gauge how far away things are.

In Tripadvisor you can display the restaurants on a map and get directions either walking or driving. Little Italy is about 3 miles away and it is about 2 to the Inner Harbor.

According to taxi fare finder dot com it would be about $12 from the HIE Stadium to Little Italy.

There are many good restaurants in the Fells Point and Harbor East area which are adjacent to the Inner Harbor and Little Italy area.

My favorite Italian restaurant is Sabatinos in Little Italy

Those are all good options if you want the Baltimore staples (Italian or seafood). For something different, The Helmand has very good Afghan food. You'd need a cab or Uber.

Trivia: The Helmand is run by former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai's brother.

All great choices. If you are in Bmore then Maryland style crabs (steamed with Old Bay) are the must-do, and I recommend Canton Dockside. You will definitely have to take a cab or Uber to get there, but it is the best place for crabs in Bmore (by all that is sacred, do NOT go to Phillips in the Inner Harbor!). If you're looking for the best crab cakes, I'd recommend Faidley's in Lexington Market...but go there for lunch, it's not a good neighborhood to be in after dark.
