August/September 2018 Itineraries

Just curious if anyone knows about when the Alaska itineraries will be released for August and/or September 2018? Wanting to plan a group cruise and we need all the time we can get to plan and pay on it.

Depending on the line sometime in spring 2017. Some earlier , others are later.

A few thoughts about your planning....

• I recommend early August to statistically get the best weather. I noticed mid-August starts the rain season. Dry weather for excursions will cost more.
  
• Look for HAL and Princess with the most sailings for Glacier Bay.

It all depends on the cruise line. If you have a particular cruise line or lines, I would be asking on the board for that cruise line.

As others have said this does vary by line. I would followup on the cruise lines as CruiserBruce suggested if you have a cruise line(s) in mind.

Again, ,depends on Cruise line...which cruise line?

We were on Crown Princess for their last Alaskan cruise for the season and left Vancouver on August 30 and arrived in Whittier on September 7. The weather was awesome and we were fortunate. The best thing was as we arrived at John Hopkins Glacier, the naturalist on board told us we were very lucky to be seeing it. Apparently they close the entrance to the bay until September 1st as this is the time the seals use the area for birthing their pups. As the cruise ship season ends mid September, that only gives a two week period for cruise ships to enter the bay. So as you can see we were very lucky.
