G.M.T. Posted July 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Your original post was asking too general questionss - like asking people to write reviews. Try to be more specific in your questions, then I'm sure you will get them answered. Also do a search on Deliziosa out of FLL on this forum. I appreciate the advice but when asked about my favorite cruise line i say Haven life amazing suites are huge and gorgeous and service is great, Just wanted to know if I was getting into something less than what I am accustom to. Thanks. I will keep trying :)

Thanks. I will keep trying :) Not quite sure what this has to do with your current questions regarding the costa Deliziosa suite experience. NCL has quite an exceptional suite package with the Haven suites, nothing like what you will experience on Costa. But then, the prices on Costa reflect this as well! If you are truly smitten with NCL and the Haven suites, perhaps you had better rebook on one of those so you won't be disappointed. Also, look at the other threads you have started in the last 2 weeks including one you started yesterday. There is some good information on those threads about what to expect on Costa in a GS, PS and S. Starting more threads on the same topics does not yield more information, it just clutters up the boards. Happy Cruising, tnt10

mommyto2girls Posted July 17, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted July 17, 2016 We love the Hven when sailing out of ny just wanted some info on the suite life off Costa. I am not sure why it is so difficult for someone to,say yes I have cruised it mnd my opinion is....I will find my info other ways thank you. loubetti I would be fine in a regular suite without the haven thanks for an honest opinion. I joined CC 16 years ago i always thought it was for sharing good info. Costa boards are obviously not as friendly as most. I hope you all have safe sailings and calm seas in the future. Dancer Bob Posted July 22, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 22, 2016 I don't travel in suites myself, and you didn't mention any special interests- are you with a dance group?- but I'll check in with some generic comments. Since you're already booked, I'll assume the waterusa package has been explained. Costa far exceeds American cruise lines in music and entertainment- it will be vastly different from NCL. The main lounge (Grand Bar) has almost continuous music from 6 PM til 1 AM. Early, around 6 PM to 8PM is less busy, the bands can play requests. Late sitting therefore gives more time for dancing. I've found Costa's muicians try to play what passengers want and are open to requests. Officially, there are no dance hosts but the cruise staff do dance with passengers. The dance floor is large enough to accommodate standard/smooth when it's not busy. Other venues are deliberately themed to appeal to various tastes, some of the music can be good for dancing when the Grand Bar is busy. Be sure to read the daily program for meal times, it's not NCL freestyle. Dining after 9 PM is a weak point, limited choice. Do you have Samsara dining? Can't remember if it's included with suites. Most Caribbean islands, I don't think it's worth getting off the ship.
malnik Posted July 24, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We love Costa but I do think its an acquired taste! Im sure you will enjoy it, the odd decoration, the 6 different language announcements....but we always go back, its a great way for us to see places and wake up in another place. And for us, the ships are spotlessly clean. Have not cruised with any others in the last 20 years, so cant comment. But if you have specific....feel free to ask! There are a few oddities..... The suite includes private dining room we are told and a drink package. We are venturing out on our own trying to just find new things to do. After so many cruises very few ports in the Caribbean thrill us but it is very inexpensive for a suite and 10 days. How bad Cana a crusie really be...we are not dancers more the casino type. Clean, good food, nice crew, just wondering what type of crowd sails her out of Ft Laudderdale in February we would love a fun but not ooo crazy crusie with a mixture of all age groups. tenpin Posted July 25, 2016 #16 Share Posted July 25, 2016 New to suite guests this year (due to new club rules) separate dining area which offers a few different choices during meals, usual refinements within the suites, with fruit and mini bar included. Also front two rows in theatre reserved for you until 5 minutes before show. Preferential boarding & lounges at certain ports. The difference in price between Premium Balconies and Suites now becomes more affordable. Sure you will enjoy the experience
Dancer Bob Posted July 25, 2016 #17 Share Posted July 25, 2016 Check what drink package you have. Waterusa is included with Costa USA bookings, very basic package, suite rules might be different. You might also have gotten another package as a booking bonus, it doesn't sound like your agent knows the product they're selling- a common problem in the US. February is a longer, off-season trip, some families but likely mostly over-50's, much different from Europe. Usually about 20% English-speaking in the Caribbean. I was on NCL Epic once, found the music and nightlife unsatisfactory compared to Costa. Casino didn't seem much different. Read the cruise contract. As I recall NCL and Costa handle the Hotel Service Charge the same. Costa tends to have cheap fares and then charge a la carte for extras, I've found it's better for me than paying for stuff I don't use.

Appreciate the info we have a package called intenditore in a PS we did his via Costa. Now I am confused I wish Costa had better agents in the US but I think we will have a lot of fun! We have one day I. The thermal spa what else could we pay for besides service charge and internet? Edited July 26, 2016 by mommyto2girls

cocacola86 Posted July 29, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 29, 2016 So does Costa have something like Carnivals air where you can either add it to your booking and pay it off as you pay off your cruise by the final payment date? I know Carnival Corp owns Costa and I'm wondering if it works the same as Fly2Fun or Princess EZ Air? G.M.T. Posted July 29, 2016 #23 Share Posted July 29, 2016 You can book air transport via Costa, some cruises are even advertised with including air fare. Alaways found that you get better deals with doing your own air bookings, also Costa's air bookings tend to be very inconvienient with egards to times and connection times. Dancer Bob Posted August 3, 2016 #25 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Although Deliziosa doesn't leave until 2300, I wouldn't recommend same-day travel in winter, at the very least I'd want the earliest flight, which you might not get with cruise air.
