Monthend Posted July 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2016 We took a journey cruise this year and it was great. Now we are considering the Sunshine journey in May 2017 but it is quite expensive. Should we do the 8 day Vista from Miami? Less money and a brand new ship. What would you do?

RuthlessBoss Posted July 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2016 Journey because of the activities being different. Vista will be the same no matter when you go.

Should we do the 8 day Vista from Miami? Less money and a brand new ship. What would you do? I did 2 Glory Journeys cruises B2B this past Jan & Feb. I certainly enjoyed the new ports and the extra days - a total of 21 between the two - sailing over the usual week long cruise. However, the Journey "activities" and dining experiences left me underwhelmed. If I hadn't been enticed by the Journeys' hype, I wouldn't have known it was a Journeys cruise, there wasn't much to differentiate it from any other sailing. The food was the American table more or less, so nothing exceptional to qualify as a "Journeys'" experience. Then there's the comparision between the Sunshine and the Vista ..... VISTA ALL THE WAY! Yes a 20 year old ship compared to a brand new one. Easy decision as I see it.
