My View: NCL Escape - Did she top the charts?

This is the one port where we could kind of get a picture of the hull. This captain likes to back into port every time, so we never really got to see the hull from up front. I thought about walking to Junkanoo to get a better picture, but it was hot and rainy. So, this will have to do:

This looked like a fun excursion:

This one looks a little crowded and rough:

How about that yacht!?

I love how Norwegian gives their crew members a chance to shine with their own International Crew Show. This one was not quite as good as the one on Norwegian Dawn, but it was still fun to support our hardworking crew members.

This is one show where they actually encourage you to take pictures and video. I don’t need to be invited twice :D

Our favorite performer was Joe, who lead many of the trivia’s.

Here is a better picture of Tyler…

One of my favorite pictures: "Washy-washy!" (Did I mention you had to be there?) That is a teaser for future Escapees.

My view at the end:

The last day of the cruise always comes too soon. I usually wake up extra early (no alarm), and often see us pull into port. This cruise was no exception. The lighting was perfect as we entered Miami:

MSC Divina, Carnival Elation, and Carnival Glory were already waiting:

Tip: NCL does disembarkation differently than other cruiselines. You pick up your own luggage tags if you want to book your bags for pick up in port. Luggage tags were available at guest services from 8 a.m. on Thursday morning. You just pick the color that corresponds with the time you want to depart. I will post the times later.

Tip: I highly recommend one of the main dining rooms for the last morning breakfast. Taste and Savor were both open, and we enjoyed a very relaxed breakfast before our number was called.

One last food picture… Eggs Benedict. NCL knows how to make a delicious Eggs Benedict. I always order extra sauce on the side, because I like to drench my Eggs Benedict. DH is frugal with the sauce :)

Disembarkation was a breeze. They have two areas of customs, depending on your luggage tag. There were people showing us to the luggage colors throughout the terminal, and the process was very smooth. Miami is not that easy for foreign travelers, but if you are a US citizen, it is really quick.

Hey, did I forget to post Margaritaville pics? LOL! No time like the present….

Welł, CC friends, this is the end of my picture review. DH and I talked about how much we enjoyed this cruise, now that we are one week removed from it. We would both rate it a full 5 stars (along with Oasis, Allure) since there were so many positives that outweighed the lack of family friendly entertainment/shows.

I especially LOVED the fact that all the free food venues had excellent quality food. On other cruiselines, we make a point of eating in the Main Dining Room for dinner, since we know that pretty much guarantees a great meal. However, Escape had the same quality food in the Garden Café as in the MDR. We therefore never felt pressure to eat in the MDR if we did not want to. I guess that is why it is called Freestyle Dining - true freedom to choose on your vacation, without sacrificing quality.

A BIG thank you to all of you who stayed with me, read along, commented, or just browsed the pictures. It is a lot of fun to relive my cruise through the reviews, but it makes it more special when I know I can help others along the way.

With that, a final view of our rainbow-filled cruise:

I'm so confused. Is Oh What a Night/Supper Club complimentary or not? I thought I understood it to be an upcharge, but I don't see the upcharge asterisk next to it in the daily above. Maybe I'm blind.

It is free! Yay!

There is another show in the Supper Club that has an upcharge (Cabaret show).

Thanks for the review and Dailies.

We are sailing on 9/3 and all of these reviews that people post are very helpful.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Do you know if Clarense (aka "The Chocolate Cowboy") is still the outside bartender at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar? A number of reviews recommended him.

2)Did you see the Magic show? If so, how was it? We had wanted to see the Hypnotist but it looks like she is no longer on the ship :-(

Glad you has a great time. Can't wait to board her!
