US Passport Lead Times

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has got a US Passport lately and if so, what the wait time was from processing it at the post office until receiving it in the mail. My DW is getting hers and is slightly stressed about the lead time.

Hi My husband and I applied for our passports on 7/11. We were told we would have it by 8/24 or before. To our surprise we received them 7/22! We received our cancelled passports a week later!!

There is a thread on the First Time Cruises forum where people are posting their experience with this.

The State Department's website (https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html) indicates the following right now. I think these are probably worst case scenarios since, given past processing problems, they probably don't want to commit to potentially unrealistic estimates.

My cousin and his wife just renewed theirs and they came back in less than three weeks.

I mailed mine in mid June and it took 2 weeks.

Original mailed May 13 and got it in the mail June 21.

Family members of ours applied for new passports in the past three months (two passports done separately). One took three weeks and the other one three and 1/2 weeks.
